Father, husband, educator and weekend warrior cyclist ... One more ride please?

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today was special.

I’ve known Josh since my cycling days, and even back then I sensed that God had something set apart for his life. There’s something prophetic about his name — and about his journey.

A few days ago he asked me, “When can I get baptised? I don’t feel ready.”

My response was simple: you’ll never feel ready. You’ll never feel fully ready for more of God. We step out by faith and trust His Word.

Today I had the privilege of witnessing Josh’s dad baptise him. Watching a father and son worship God together and pursue Him together — it felt like a modern-day Acts 10 moment, like when Cornelius and his household heard the gospel and responded. Salvation in a home. Faith in a family.

Just before the baptism it was raining. As we stepped outside, the rain stopped. We baptised him, people witnessed it, and as soon as we went back inside, the rain started again.

Jesus’ timing.

Never underestimate your living room, your garden, your ordinary space. It can become holy ground. It can become a platform for the gospel.

If you’re asking the same question Josh asked — “What if I’m not ready?” — step out in faith anyway. God meets obedience.

What a beautiful day. What a tangible sense of His presence over it all.
