Ohhh man. Here we go again. Dinner at @thelunchlady with the girls. #teammuchopollo

Octopus skewers - 17/10. Tender but well charred, and all three of us could have happily taken shots of that green chili sauce.

Pork spring rolls - the epitome of crisp but juicy. So much flavour wrapped into these immaculately folded rolls. I was hesitant at first because they're obviously pretty common in most pho joints around the city, but I'm sure glad we didn't.

Taro chips and dip - another incident where the dip was absolutely the star. Taro chips? Whisper thin, crisp and fresh, light taro sweetness, well seasoned. The green chili aioli absolutely slapped, there's no other accurate description.

Bone marrow - all three of us were chatting about this while we lined up waiting for the reservation, and I was very hopeful it would live up to the hype we'd given it in our minds. Definitely not wrong! The crostini that came with were buttery crisp and held the buttery marrow perfectly. Whatever that secret sauce is - bottle it. Sell it. Y'all will make a fortune.

Brisket pho - just look at that fat dispersion over the broth. Enough said.

House special fried rice - well seasoned, and a great balance of rice to stuff. A bite of prawn and pork belly together was phenomenal.

Steak salad - originally I wanted the duck salad (and I'll definitely be returning for one, without question) but it was unavailable, and our server recommended the steak. Bro. Thanks for that move, because with all the rich and fatty we had going on, this crisp/acidic/refreshing salad was a great accoutrement. The steak wasn't a massive portion, but it was cooked mid rare to perfection.

Egg coffee - admittedly, one of the best I've had in the city. If I could just grab one to go occasionally without a reservation, my outside coffee budget would skyrocket.

Thanks for an unforgettable meal, and I know I'll be back to try other dishes. Duck salad and Vietnamese coffee tiramisu? Yes, please.

I've been known to leave pretty long winded captions on exceptional meals - this one speaks for itself. The vibe at June is sophisticated without pretentious notes. Frogs legs, in particular, stood out for me. I haven't had them since culinary school, and what a way to reintroduce them to my palette.

LaLa, downstairs, equally sophisticated but with a layer of funk added. Live DJs upstairs and downstairs spinning vinyl through the entire meal. What an amazing experience. Will I go back? Undoubtedly, and soon. And the best part? The company. Mucho pollo, forever ♥️

Lunch date with @this.isolive ♥️ And what did we choose? Smash burgers. A solid 9/10, I want a bit more seasoning on the actual burger, but otherwise it was well executed. Obviously, the company was phenomenal, and since we met working at a burger pop up, it seemed fitting today's lunch was a throwback to our roots 🍔 team mucho pollo!

What I’m grateful for having found a wonderful family in Canada, having everyone’s support and knowing that I can count on each and every one of them during this journey. Immigrant life is like that: you build your family in your own way in a different country.
Love you all!
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 🎃 🧡
