I’m Ashley, a Queens raised, Latina hairstylist, mom, fiancé, sensitive gangsta, and professional over-giver. lol

A few things about me:

🤎 I attended Aveda in SoHo. I originally went to cosmetology school wanting to specialize in bridal, but somewhere along the way I fell HARD for cutting (especially a good bob)
🤎 I used to do hair and makeup in my kitchen/bedroom 🫣
🤎 Makeup was actually my first love.
🤎 I love sneakers and I’m a tomboy at heart, but getting my nails and pedicure done is my favorite time of the month!
🤎 I’m a fragrance connoisseur… if you know, you KNOW.
🤎 I love the casino and, embarrassingly, I could play bingo on my phone for hours. 🤭
🤎 I’m basically Bob the Builder. I LOVE putting things together and secretly think I was an interior designer in another life.
🤎 I absolutely cannot stand the sound of people chewing. 😂
🤎 I’m very honest. Sometimes my delivery needs a little work, but my intentions are always good.
🤎 I’m hyper-independent and resilient (qualities I learned from watching my mom, who raised me as a single mother)
🤎 I’m a mom to a 16-year-old who will forever be my greatest accomplishment.
🤎 I’m a FIANCÉ to my partner of almost 9 years 🥹
🤎 I’ve always been someone who gives more than I receive, sometimes to a fault, but honestly… it’s one of my favorite things about myself.

🤎 I hope to inspire my son, all single moms, and people who have faced what felt like impossible obstacles that anything is possible.

Over the years, I’ve built a community of some of the most incredible women I’ve ever met, many of whom started as clients and became so much more.

Sometimes my clients believe in me more than I believe in myself, and I’ll never take that for granted. The success I have today exists because people trusted me, supported me, sat in my chair, shared my work, referred their friends, and continued to show up for me.

To all manual therapists — what modalities do you practice, and why?

What do you enjoy most about the way you work?

For me, it’s Japanese bodywork and Seitai.

What draws me to this work is its complexity. There isn’t always a predetermined technique or sequence. Every body responds differently, so the work requires intuition, sensitivity, and the ability to listen through touch.

I enjoy noticing the subtle things — how a joint moves, where the body resists, how the nervous system responds to different inputs, and how the quality of touch can completely change a person’s response.

The more I practice, the more I realize that good manual therapy isn’t necessarily about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about becoming sensitive enough to know what the body needs — and what it doesn’t.

That’s what keeps Seitai so interesting to me.

Thank you @paragonsports for having me!
It was such an honor to offer recovery sessions for marathon runners from all over the world — from first-timers to seasoned athletes.
It was so much fun meeting people doing what I love the most.

Each session was a reminder of how incredible the human body is — the effort, the endurance, and the stories behind all the runners were so nice to hear!
Grateful to be part of their post-race recovery and share a bit of healing after such an inspiring event.
