My debut album “Between The Lines” is finally out

I’m going to try to not make this a full on essay but yeah here are some thoughts

I’ve always wanted to be an album artist for as long as I can remember. From the time my dad played me Revolver, Rubber Soul and Dark Side Of The Moon in my childhood living room. The records all felt so personal - like you were sitting in the room with the band as they were explaining their life story over dinner.

When I started making dance music I thought I’d never really have the opportunity to tell my story in the same way because dance music is different and beautiful in its own right - it’s more about the beauty of the sounds and the endless creativity of audio - but for me, my voice isn’t on the records (since I’m not singing), so I never thought an album would be in the cards for me in the same way it was presented in my childhood.

As I’ve continued to tour, I’ve noticed so many parallels between my previous life as an athlete and my current life as an artist: most notably - the burnout. There was a point where I very clearly went from loving tennis to hating it with a passion. I didn’t know when it happened but one day I woke up and was over the whole thing. As I spent more and more time on the road / editing videos and less and less time making music, I had the same feeling in the back of my mind that something similar might happen with music - the thing I’ve loved doing the most for the past 10 years.

But all of those feelings made me pay closer attention to the fleeting moments in my life and I realized that was the perfect way to tell my story in an album format - so that’s what I tried to do.

I have a laundry list of people I should thank for this album, but the most important person is you - the person currently reading this. You’ve made my dreams come true by giving a kid from Louisville - with immigrant parents from Ukraine who didn’t know English when they came here - a platform to share my thoughts and feelings with the world and live a pretty sweet life in the process of doing so.

If you have the time to listen to the album from front to back just once - it would mean the world.
