SMRUN26 업무일지. 🥳

came for the running.
stayed because SM somehow made this a really good entertainment strategy.

the concept is actually kind of crazy when you think about it:
10K. idols on the course.
finish the run. get the medal.
concert after.

so basically they took fandom and made people exercise first. 😭

and the best part is that the idols are actually running, not just showing up for a photo op. you can run near them, film them, catch up to them, sometimes even talk while running.

1. Minho apparently ran the course TWICE just to say hi to everyone there.
2. Suho said he wanted to slow down because he wasn’t feeling well and then finished in 55 minutes.

sir.

3. Changmin actually took his time, running alongside XLOV’s Rui and Chuu, which was genuinely very cute.
4. WayV were basically EVERYWHERE HAHAHA.

and somehow i also made Kany start running again during her walking break ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

i ran in front of and paced Yangyang and Hendery for a bit and got a video, which was very normal and not at all something my brain kept replaying afterwards.

from a business perspective, it’s such a neat setup:
fandom → participation → interaction → content → reward

and even the 2-hour cutoff for 10K makes it pretty approachable. 12:00/km, so you really don’t need to be a serious runner to participate.

also the kit has LEGIT stuff.

shirt, hat, medal, nutrition, sunstick etc.
SM said hydration and somehow meant skincare too.

as for my personal agenda:

Chanyeol, please join next year ㅠㅠㅠ
i’ll run slowww with you.

Suho, where were you.
i saw you once.
you were right behind me.
then you disappeared.

excellent experience for an EXO-L.

overall, though, this was such a fun example of how entertainment doesn’t always have to be something you watch.

sometimes you just run 10K first.

apparently that’s the business model now. 💕
