My time in Medellín, Colombia with @smiletrain impacted me in ways I’m still trying to process. In just a few days, we met extraordinary doctors whose compassion knows no limits, families who embody true strength & kindness, and children whose smiles lit up entire rooms! This trip is something I’ve looked forward to since the moment I was crowned Miss All American, but I had no idea just how much it would change my life. Throughout our time in Medellín, I experienced so many unforgettable moments! One of my favorites was the Princess Party in the park, where we spent the afternoon with the sweetest little girls who reminded me how powerful kindness & connection can be. Watching them open up through laughter, hugs, and pure joy is something I’ll cherish forever. We also met a remarkable boy named Santiago, who has grown up as part of the Smile Train family. He shared his talent through a beautiful dance performance (and taught us a few moves too!💃😆). We were welcomed into homes, met families & patients, spent time at @clinica_noel , and witnessed the lifelong care Smile Train provides— care that begins even before birth and continues for years after surgery. One moment that touched my heart deeply was meeting a talented 12-year-old boy and his family, whose lives have been transformed through Smile Train’s support. His artwork & desire to make the world a more beautiful place were so inspiring, and his family expressed that their long journey into the city for treatment isn’t a burden, but an adventure they look forward to! This, along with each story we heard exemplifies one of my biggest takeaways from this experience: Smile Train’s mission goes far beyond providing free cleft surgeries and comprehensive care— they’ve built a family-like community and offer every resource imaginable. Seeing the impact of their work firsthand showed me that healing isn’t just physical— it’s emotional, relational, and deeply human. I’m so honored to be even a small part of something so meaningful, and endlessly grateful to have seen the heart behind this organization and the lives they’re transforming every single day💙
