Let me tell you the interesting hippo stories of Zambezi, Zambia.

Yes, large populations of hippopotamuses live in the Zambezi River of Zambia. They leave the water at night to walk along the riverbanks and graze on grass, sometimes traveling several kilometers

Little do you know that Zambia has the most hippos in Africa, with an estimated population of 37,100 to 42,500individuals.

The Zambezi River is Africa’s 4th longest river (2,574km) and Zambia has the most hippos per km — over 40,000 hippos.

Lower Zambezi National Park— you can do canoe safari and you will be 10 meters from pods of 30-50 hippos grunting in the water. It’s ranked as one of the best places on earth to see hippos in the wild, right at the edge of the river before it drops into Victoria Falls.

The Lower Zambezi National Park gets at least 30,000 visitors per years it’s that low because it is on purpose to keep visitors away as much except for premium guest bookings.

Hippo Call in Kenyan, Swahili Language.

This is at Lake Naivasha / Lake Victoria in Kenya are real, but it’s not magic. It’s conditioning.

What the Kenyan boat guides do:

*1. They call: “Kuja! Kuja kiboko! Kuja!”*
Kuja means “Come” in Swahili.
So they shout “Kuja kiboko kuja” - “Come hippo, come.”

Some also make that deep grunting sound _huh-huh-huh_ that sounds like a hippo.

*2. Why hippos come out:*
- Hippos are very territorial and they recognize voices. Scientists have proved hippos can tell friend voices from stranger voices, and familiar humans from new humans.
- In Lake Naivasha, the same fishermen and guides have been feeding or being around the same hippo pods for years. The hippos know their boat engine sound, their voice.

In some villages in Homa Bay (Kowuor River), there is a famous hippo called Rao that fishermen talk to. They say “Rao, toka!” (Rao, come out). It was raised near people.

AS A TOURIST (we advise)
Don’t try it. Hippo is the most dangerous animal in Africa — kills about 500 people a year in Kenya alone. That calling only works for locals who have spent 10-20 years with that specific pod. For a stranger, the hippo will charge.

Doing too much pull-ups a day builds upper-body endurance and grip strength, but it often leads to muscle fatigue, minor size gains, and a high risk of overtraining.

Physical Results and Changes

Muscle Growth: You may notice slightly fuller biceps, broader lats, and thicker forearms, though overall mass gains are usually small (around 0.5 to 1 pound of muscle in 30 days).

Aesthetics: Back definition and vascularity in the arms often improve, creating a tighter upper-body look

Risks and Downsides

Overtraining and Fatigue: Daily high-volume work causes constant muscle soreness and joint strain in the elbows and shoulders. Many fitness experts conclude that participants would not repeat the daily routine due to exhaustion.

Muscular Imbalances: Focusing solely on pulling movements without balancing them with pushing exercises (like push-ups or overhead presses) can lead to poor posture and rounded shoulders.

Skin Damage: Tearing, calluses, and blood blisters on the hands are very common during the first two weeks.

Namibia is home to Dragon’s Breath Cave, which holds the largest underground non-sub-glacial lake in the entire world.

The Name: It gets its eerie name from the humid, cool air that breathes out of the cave’s tiny opening at the surface.

Rarest Wildlife: The pitch-black, crystal-clear subterranean water harbors the world’s only known population of golden cave catfish (Clarias cavernicola), a critically rare blind fish species.

Visiting: Because of its fragile ecosystem and dangerous vertical descent, general public access is heavily restricted, but specialized adventure cavers and scientific expeditions can view it by arrangement with local Namibian outfitters.

You won’t ever know but let me tell you the story of the only African hotel that was inspired by American actor Angelina Jolie…@zannierhotels in NAMIBIA.

Zannier Hotels in Namibia—comprising Zannier Omaanda near Windhoek and Zannier Sonop in the Namib Desert—were inspired by a chance meeting between founder Arnaud Zannier and actress Angelina Jolie.

The Angelina Jolie effect: Zannier Omaanda only exists because Angelina Jolie told Arnaud Zannier about a unique piece of land for sale next to the N/a’an ku sê wildlife sanctuary, convincing him to purchase it and build.

Design Inspired by Tradition: The 10 individual huts at Omaanda feature clay walls and thatched roofs modeled directly after traditional Owambo homes from northern Namibia..if you ever visit NAMIBIA you must peep ZANNIER.
