Black Engine with Spatium Radiance Cascades Global Illumination

Without TAA, SSGI, DDGI, Voxels, or other.

These aren’t lightmaps, as many people think. Lightmaps require a UV map to be created in advance.

Works on: C++, SDL3, Apple Metal
(support for OpenGL, Vulkan later)

And other libraries in the list.

The lightweight and fast architecture of the engine, combined with my Spatium RC GI, which demonstrates equally impressive performance, will allow me to showcase what can be built and what level of graphical fidelity can be achieved with nothing more than enough ideas and unconventional solutions.

If the industry isn’t accepting me right now, then I’ll try to make the industry come calling for me. XD

This was one epic women’s track day organised by @drivenlifeuk surrounded by like minded women who had the fire for the track! @evo_suzy you are one legendary driver and inspiration for women 💙

The word freedom comes to mind when behind the wheel on track. I’ve learnt to trust my car in a very different way each time. The bond between a car and its driver never falters @clutchoninsta

@clumsydumpling it was an honour to be the first to take you out on track 💙💪🏻

Until next time Driven Life!

$Radiance Cascades Glass & Caustics - an experimental real-time ray tracing demo focused on physically-inspired glass rendering. The renderer combines: • Real-time refraction and Fresnel reflections • RGB spectral dispersion using a Cauchy-style IOR model • Beer-Lambert absorption inside glass • Forward-splatted photon caustics projected onto surfaces • Cascaded irradiance caching for indirect diffuse lighting • BVH ray tracing for complex geometry The frame is rendered through multiple GPU compute passes: cascaded irradiance gathering, filtering, photon caustic splatting, caustic filtering, and final ray-traced shading. The project supports three graphics APIs: • Apple Metal • Vulkan 1.2+ • OpenGL 4.3+ Core All backends share the same scene definition and mesh loader. Performance shown in this video: ~50-60 FPS at around 2K resolution on an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M inside a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro. !!! This is an experimental research demo / proof of concept, not a production-ready rendering engine. !!!
