In the Film, TV and live production industries there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a good workflow and plan coming to life seamlessly and knowing that all the countless hours invested in pre-production, programming, bench testing and building were worth the effort.

Another very gratifying moment for our team is when clients get it, when they understand the overwhelming difference between working with our self sufficient Chameleon Mobile Command Units and the alternative which is usually ineffective, uncomfortable and costly.

Our Chameleon and LHVS Crew and our Extreme Jibs team were on point, well prepped, in sync and integrated efficiently, we always end up saving time, money, and headaches to Production, and making Directors, DP’s, AD’s, executives and Studio or Agency staff happy and comfortable.

We are extremely grateful to Bonnie Gallanter from Valkyr Productions for this opportunity to work with the Cadillac Formula 1 team, it was challenging, exciting, and we got to be with so many friends at the top of their game, from who we always learn something valuable, we also got to work with a very good Director and DP, both loved our fleet and solutions, it was a total blessing.

Our team provided:

-Video Assist
-VTR / Qtake systems
-RF coordination
-DIT w/ SFX / Alex Somarriba
-Video Village
-Bonded wireless streaming kits inside picture cars
-Porsche Arm Car featuring the Hyper Crane 360 System and our new Motocrane Titan Camera Head

NAB 2026 was amazing, what a great opportunity to learn from the best manufacturers, engineers and integrators in the film and TV industries.

Video and audio over IP featuring the new SMPTE 2110 seem to be at the top of everyone’s list for integration and signal distribution and management, of course NDI and Dante are also in the same race, everywhere you turn there are 10GB and 100GB data ports on cameras, switchers, routers, instant replay systems, it is very interesting to see how such a new technology and protocol seems to be leading the effort.

Another big feature being offered by many manufacturers is cloud data management, specially for realtime multiuser editing remotely.

We had a great time, too much to see, too many vendors and manufacturers to visit, meet or negotiate with, but “there is no crying in baseball”, so we just got it done anyways.

There are too many cool reviews and product highlights to include on one post but a few really stand out:

Black Magic Design new 12K cinema and broadcast cameras and 2110 switchers, routers, recorders, and workflow are very cool and efficient, and their new Fairlight Live audio consoles are over the top also the New Davinci Resolve is next level including a new instant replay feature.

Qtake’s newest release is robust and beefy, and offers the most reliable proprietary hardware capture and playback in the video assist world.

Kiloview has some very beefy and robust SRT encoders and decoders and offer an entire ecosystem for local and remote live workflows.

Wave Central and Domo released the most versatile line of wireless video systems in the market, from micro 4K transmitters to full size long range RF mesh systems and live wireless color grading.

Lots of cool new features and products from Ross, Panasonic, Sony, Grass Valley, Arri, SKAARHOJ, Miri, AJA, atomos, tilta

Pre-Production is always your best friend.
Taking the time to plan, bench test, prep, tech rehearse and iron down the details is a good formula for success, and needless to say those buttons with knobs and fancy equipment are useless without a qualified crew of professionals who get things done and are ready for anything thrown their way.

Live sports are always unpredictable, specially this type of one on one Street Basketball Tournaments, they move extremely fast, and require good coverage.

The event was a great success, we had over 1 million live viewers on pay per view streaming online. Our technical team was excellent and on point, and our client was very happy.

Shout out to Andrew Sheffler from Elite AVL for providing us with a beefy state of the art new media server to run running our instant replay like a boss.

Special thanks to Producer / Director and good friend Mitch Anthony from Mad Enterprises for the opportunity to work on this tournament.

Our Chameleon One Mobile Unit worked like a charm, we had a large setup back stage as well, 15 camera feeds, lots of real time graphics, 3 camera routable instant replay, playback and score board content, 1 million live viewers, the quality of the stream was top notch front end and back end, it was a great success, and can’t wait to do it again.

Six months ago we took on a Lotus Cars project for Formula One in Miami that challenged us in every aspect. The ask from the agency was simple to say but difficult to execute: deliver every shot within 15 minutes of capture. To make that possible, we had to build custom software to ingest, process, and deliver footage in real time. We engineered the entire system from scratch in the weeks leading up to Miami, knowing that any flaw would show itself instantly once we hit the ground.

When we arrived at the track, the real test came fast. Our first file transfer had to move through the pipeline without a single slowdown. If any part of the workflow bottlenecked, the entire system would fail and the shoot would be a failure. We had tested hundreds of times so our confidence was high. The first real test was with the wonderful CMO @karacoraci, and we all waited to see how the software would perform. For a moment the room went silent as the data began to load. The files transferred, the automation fired, and the footage hit the client’s screen right on schedule. After that the system ran flawlessly in the middle of the nonstop movement every day of F1. The team kept monitoring to see if any issues popped up but every part of the workflow held perfectly. A HUGE thank you to my mighty team @thisismo and @steadi_d…. And of course one of my favorite people ever @mmmorrigan and everyone at @theinterluxegroup for believing in my team to pull this off. Everyone at @lotuscars including @karacoraci @njonieclund and @f1 … y’all are amazing!

This remains one of the most technical and rewarding challenges we have ever solved, and one I am incredibly proud of. @reddigitalcinema always coming through for all my productions. I couldn’t do it without yall and the amazing customer service.

Love you @thisismo

Thanks @sumprods Kevin of @storynorthproductions and @nicholaskusmich for sharing in the life-changing evening for Mo.

And to our Seal, Dan, who made this all happen in under 12 hours. Opened the rooftop. Private chef. DJ with MO’s favorite music, and transport through the night to make our next call time in a new city.
