Back in March while I was still very pregnant and rotund - I had the pleasure of being the first artist in residence for @poquatuckhall1874 ! I am beyond grateful to them for lending me their beautiful historic space on the tip of Long Island and to @ambrielfloyd for leading the charge on this wonderful project that gives artists a space to create. Excited to share some of the songs I wrote while there on Friday, August 21st and I’ll be joined by some of my favorite songwriters for the night @keenanomeara and Tamsin of @thisiswilsen ❤️ $15 suggested donation - all proceeds will be split with the hall. Hope to see you for this wonderful community gathering!

I was recently reflecting on the time where we all had no choice but to stay locked into our homes and reflect, read, listen to music and create…and I thought of this idea of posting some of the albums that I could lean to and personally defined the lockdown/pandemic of 2020 for me. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it all without these stunning projects.. curious to know what albums got you through the pandemic!! Don’t be shy tell meee!!

This week I’ve tried something slightly different on the show. If you tune in tonight, you’ll be embarking on a tour of Hades (the Greek Underworld) with me as your tour guide. I had a lot of fun planning the route through Hell (and back) and I hope you enjoy this slightly unusual format.

Whilst you’re admiring scenic river views of Hades, we’ll be listening to artists like Foxwarren, Wilsen, and Anna von Hausswolff - a mixture of dreamy and frantic to suit every stop on the tour. If you are planning on joining me, please make sure you bring a coin with you for safe passage through the Underworld, as I don’t want to be responsible for any lost souls.

Airing at 8pm tonight on @florrie_radio, I hope you enjoy this kinda quirky edition of The Dark Hour 🏺🥀

Featured Artworks:
Isle of the Dead (Version III) - Arnold Böcklin
Landscape with Charon Crossing The Styx - Joachim Patinir

Wilsen - I Go Missing in My Sleep
(Secret City Records, 2017)

I honestly can't remember how I first heard about this band. Hoping we haven't heard the last from them.
