TEEKS knew exactly what he was doing on “My Boy” 😳 Built around his unmistakable baritone the sensual record finds the Māori soul artist embracing desire and his queer identity with a new level of openness “My Boy” will appear on his upcoming album “Lovers Comet” arriving October 30. That voice paired with that delivery…the internet never stood a chance 🫠 #TEEKS #MyBoy #RnB

“It’s just the absence of fear.” TEEKS remembers wanting to fit in. Now, the Māori soul singer feels sure enough of himself to worry less about other people’s opinions, and to put more of his own experience into his songs. Speaking with Arts Garden, he describes the unlearning behind that change, alongside reconnecting with his heritage and Māori understandings of sexual fluidity and identity before colonisation. “With this album I wanted to put it all out on the table,” he says. “Explore the light and the shadow.” Ahead of his Australian tour, we talked about belonging, songwriting and finding the confidence to claim the stage. 🎶 TEEKS 📍 Her Majesty’s Theatre, Adelaide 📅 Thursday 19 November 2026 Tickets through Adelaide Festival Centre. Send this to the person you’d take along. Arts Garden • Three D Radio 93.7FM #TEEKS #ArtsGarden #AdelaideLiveMusic #MaoriMusic #HerMajestysTheatre
