This Pride Month, MMD is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community beyond the celebration — through real donations to organizations doing real work.

Last month, Americana/folk artist, Jennie Arnau, released 'A RISING TIDE,' her comeback album after a decade+ hiatus, and critics can't get enough!

"The album is consistently pure in essence. It doesn’t rock, it doesn’t really pontificate, or lecture – it flows willfully, bubbles up in spots but delivers with a good balance of intuition. She may be more Buffy Saint-Marie than Joan Baez. More Ferron than Phranc. This is an exceptional showcase."
- Americana Highways

"It’s Americana with a twist. Think southern charm meets New York grit, with a healthy dose of heart."
- Rainbow Rodeo

"Resonating echoes of early Seventies songweavers like Carly Simon or even Carol King – there a polish to the production, but the words have gravity."
- Americana UK

"Lovely and heartfelt Americana [inspired by]... the idea that when you need connection and joy, one ought not forget the comfort and light we carry with us as we move through our communities and the world."
- The Bluegrass Situation

"'A RISING TIDE' is etched with emotional complexity, offering the different stages of grief and love persevering in the form of song... Arnau’s voice, full of freedom, sings to the living experience by showing the interconnectedness of emotion, which goes hand in hand with her own journey."
- The Garnette Report

'A RISING TIDE' is out now. What's your favorite song on the album?

For 35+ years, This Way Out has been a lifeline — broadcasting LGBTQ news, voices, and culture to more than 200 stations worldwide. In some countries and small towns, we’re still the only place listeners hear words like “gay” or "queer" spoken with pride.

Your donation this year keeps our program free, accessible, and alive for the people who need it most.

❤️ Give today. Protect queer history. Lift queer voices.

Beautiful radio feature on @thiswayoutradio that contextualizes my work through radio stories at that time. Brian DeShazor‘s sound collage is such an artful way of sharing and reporting. Definitely check it out!
