• The Donations: Worshippers leaving after prayers stepped forward to contribute money, regardless of religious background.
• The Amount Raised: Social media reports and local updates state that roughly 26.33 crore was collected to help the family. Humanity First: Videos of the crowd donating outside the mosque circulated widely online with messages emphasizing that compassion goes beyond religious boundaries. Public Reaction: Many people on social media praised the collective support as a powerful example of unity and mutual aid during a difficult time. The 2-year-old girl is battling Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare and severe genetic disorder. The ultimate hurdle for her family is the extreme cost of the medical treatment. The government does not fully cover the cost of this injection because of strict funding limits for rare diseases and the massive financial burden it would place on the public healthcare budget.Humanity knows no religion.
When this mother had nowhere else to turn for her 2-year-old daughter battling SMA Type 1, the worshippers at Jama Masjid stepped up. They didn’tsee religion; they only saw a mother’s pain and a child who needed a savior. Over 6 crores raised by sheer unity and love.
Let this be a reminder that compassion will always
unite us 🙌🏻 🇮🇳
