Review of Szechuan Chengdu Restaurant, Trondheimsveien 64, 0565 Oslo

If people ask about real authentic Chinese food, I think you cannot go wrong with Chengdu, located in Carl Berner. There are no other Chinese restaurants that can beat this place. I’m sorry, but Oslo doesn’t have real Chinese food. Make sure to order from the red menu. Still an amazing price for the dishes.

Breddos!

As soon as we walked in, Roth welcomed us. He's the sous chef, and he introduced the new menu.

They've made a significant change, switching from a paper menu to a proper one.

We tried most of the new items from the menu, and my initial impression is that it's a significant improvement from what I've had before.

They've truly perfected the smokiness and tenderness of the meat.

Some of the dishes even have cheese on the outside of the tortilla, and they come with a consommé. It's perfect, especially on cold days.

I had a great conversation with Roth. He's incredibly passionate about his work, and you can also check out his Instagram.

I'll definitely be returning soon for more tacos! Oslo might just have a new taco king

Finally, we had the chance to visit El Brutus.

Upon first impression, the interior clearly reflects the same inspiration as Katla. Perhaps because it's owned by the Eik group?

We decided to preorder the autumn set menu and absolutely loved the sirloin and squid.

In short, I think this is a fantastic place. It exudes a Spanish vibe in its dishes. If I plan to return, it will likely be with a group of friends. 🍽️🇪🇸

All of this for only 450kr! 🤩 They'll be featuring the Bear theme later this month. My favorite dishes were the omelet 🍳 and the chocolate cake 🍰!! Otherwise, head there for the amazing vibe and cool people

A large, thick and juicy chicken thigh, fried to a crispness I can dig, and not too fatty! Topped with cheddar and drizzled with three delicious, creamy sauces such as aioli, rantziki and their very own special sauce. Great combos all around. Slam in some slaw and pickled onions, and you’ve got me howling.
