Giechischer Wein

On Thursday, September 24, the NEO VogelART lab will open the exhibition “Haut bas fragile,” curated by Thomas Zitzwitz, in Nice.

With “haut bas fragile” the NEO art & culture lab x VogelART in Nice presents the third exhibition curated by Thomas Zitzwitz. Following the highly acclaimed exhibitions “Tendre est la Nuit” and “Encre Sympathique“, Zitzwitz continues his exploration of contemporary artistic practices, bringing together international artists for a multifaceted dialogue on fragility, change, and the tension between opposites.

The exhibition features artworks by Adriane Wachholz, Alicja Kwade, André Wendland, Aneta Kajzer, Bertille Bak, Camille Henrot, Carsten Höller, Christian August, Cosimo Casoni, Frédéric Weigel, Gregor Hildebrandt, Ida Ekblad, Isa Melsheimer, Jean Bedez, Jenny Brosinski, Joan Jonas, Johannes Daniel, Kenny Schachter, Kristian Touborg, Lars Breuer, Lou Ros, Lucie Antoinette, Marie Bovo, Norbert Bisky, Pablo Tomek, Philip Grözinger, Sophie Calle, Thomas Zitzwitz, Ugo Rondinone, Xiyao Wang, Yorgos Stamkopoulos.

The exhibition’s title is borrowed from Jacques Rivette’s film “haut bas fragile” (1995). Its playful, open narrative style, as well as its delight in the ambiguous and the unresolved, reflect an artistic sensibility that also shapes the exhibition. High, low, fragile – these terms describe not only emotional states but also the ambivalences of our present. They stand for experiences that many people share today– in life as well as in art.

The exhibition brings together works that explore vulnerability, transformation, and resilience. Diverse media and artistic approaches create a tension between lightness and heaviness, intimacy and publicness, stability and uncertainty. The result is a multifaceted journey that invites visitors to develop their own perspectives on the fragile and the unfinished.

Opening reception on September 24, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Some artists will be present at the opening reception.

Performance by Frédéric Weigel on October 4 at 7 p.m.

Exhibition from September 24 to October 11, 2026
