I’ve spent a lot of time talking about the music on this album, but I haven’t talked nearly enough about the people who helped make it!

This album exists because of a group of incredibly talented people who gave their time, ideas, ears, energy, and a whole lot of patience to this music.

@leonardfowley — recording, mixing & mastering
@martindaigledrums — drums
@troystephensonviola — viola
@josh.morris.cello — cello
@mytraymoo — violin
@thomthesaxengine — saxophone
@shaebrossard — engineer
@watchthatendsthenightrecords

The musicians on this album mean the world to me. They’ve been there as these pieces have changed, grown, and sometimes completely transformed, and hearing them bring their own voices to the music has been one of the most meaningful parts of making this record! I genuinely couldn’t have done it without them.

Leonard and Shae were simply fucking amazing to work with. So much of this album happened in the studio, and alongside all the technical work, there were so many conversations, weird ideas, problem-solving sessions, and so many laughs. I’m incredibly grateful for all of it❤️

And Watch That Ends The Night Records has been a dream come true to work with. They’ve believed in this album from the beginning and have helped bring it to life in ways I honestly never expected.

Making an album is such a strange, and deeply collaborative process. You start with something that exists mostly in your head, and then slowly, through the people around you, it becomes something real.

I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make this one what it is.

If this is your vibe, you’ve found the right place ⬇️

A little glimpse into the instruments (and people) that make up IL BUIO

We’re a 10-person ensemble of classically trained musicians, curious about what new classical music can sound like in 2026.

Unusual combinations of instruments, distortion, pedals, improvisation, prepared piano, extended techniques — we like experimenting with what can happen when you push chamber music a little outside its usual boundaries.

We’re interested in the weird, beautiful spaces somewhere between contemporary classical music, experimentation, and everything else we listen to

More soon 🫧🪐
