Kicking off ADE with a 5 hour vinyl set, these 20 records will be in my bag for sure!

A few of these records have been in my collection for 30 years like Maurizio and Terrence Dixon, others are newer but these are definitely more on the classics side of what I’m bringing.
I’ve also done some record shopping for new vinyls to keep things fresh ✌️

I’ll be playing in the kitchen at @vanoostrestaurant while @florisvstraalen is creating a special 5 course dinner.

Justin Simmons - Helga Möller (New Aluminists Remix) (IS, 2002?) I always think of breaks as a garnish to be used sparingly but I really can’t get enough of stuff in this pocket. This mix is both a great sunrise tune and good for pushing the energy a bit early evening as people start filing in. It has a cheeky vocal in the beginning that says “welcome to the club”, which I always get a laugh out of every time I put it on. Related: go dig through Thor’s catalog 🐐

Comment ‘JUNOPICKS’ to listen!

A shared studio session in Detroit led to this focused techno collaboration between heavyweight talents Luke Hess and Thor. Recorded over several intense days inside the DeepLabs studio, the EP reflects a meeting of two distinct approaches. Hess brings the warm, soulful pulse long associated with Detroit techno, while Thor contributes a stripped-back minimal sensibility shaped by his Icelandic roots. Analogue machines and rare samples give the music a tactile edge and form the crisp but deep drive of 'Induction' to the subtly uplift and smoky soul of 'Samruni'. This is a restrained yet powerful record.
