Kicking off Aspen Art Week | On Sunday, The Aspen Art Fair Kick-off Lunch welcomed collectors, curators, artists, and friends ahead of the fair’s opening this week. Hosted in the beautiful garden of artist Andy Millner in Snowmass, the farm-to-table lunch brought together Aspen’s arts community to celebrate the third edition of The Aspen Art Fair and the start of an exciting week of exhibitions, conversations, and events. The lunch was co-hosted by Southern Guild, Friedman Benda, Albertz Benda, and Hexton Gallery. Special thanks to Andy and Jessica Millner for their generous hospitality, and to Trevyn McGowan (Southern Guild), Jennifer Olshin (Friedman Benda), Thorsten Albertz (Albertz Benda), and Bob Chase (Hexton Gallery) for bringing the afternoon together. Titre : Dans quel monde vivons-nous? Dimension : 236/166 cm Technique : Acrylique sur toile Année : 2026 La question permanente que chacun se pose, mais il faut savoir que le monde a toujours été une jungle, c'est-à-dire la loi du plus fort. Ce monde est dirigé par la trahison, le mensonge, le profit, la manipulation, la guerre, la politique, la religion et la presse, etc.Une réalité crue que cette œuvre expose sans filtre. Au centre de cette table des négociations, la politique et la corruption s'étalent à travers les contrats et l'argent, tandis que le peuple, réduit à des corps soumis, subit en silence. Et pour couronner le tout, ce micro souillé d'une déjection fécale incarne à la perfection la trahison d'une presse réduite à néant. Ce monde n'a jamais été et ne sera plus un fleuve tranquille. Dimensions: 236/166 cm Medium: Acrylic on canvas Year: 2026 It’s the question everyone constantly asks themselves, but we must realize that the world has always been a jungle that is, a place where the law of the jungle reigns. This world is ruled by betrayal, lies, profit, manipulation, war, politics, religion, and the media, among other things a harsh reality that this work exposes without filter. At the center of this negotiating table, politics and corruption are laid bare through contracts and money, while the people, reduced to submissive bodies, suffer in silence. And to top it all off, that microphone smeared with feces perfectly embodies the betrayal of a press that has been reduced to nothing. This world has never been and will never be a calm river. I’m excited to share that my debut spotlight exhibition, HELD SPACE, has officially SOLD OUT!!! This body of work was never created by one person alone. It was held up by the love, generosity, trust and belief of so many people. To my beautiful wife @mlp143rlp thank you for standing beside me through every late night, every moment of doubt and every breakthrough while I brought these paintings to life. To every person who trusted me enough to stand in front of my camera and later my canvas, thank you for allowing me to tell a small part of your story. To the photographers who helped bring my vision into focus, my gallery for believing in the work, everyone who came to the opening, everyone who liked, commented on and shared posts about the exhibition, and to every collector who chose to give these paintings a home, thank you. Please know that I never take any of you for granted. Every opportunity, every conversation, every word of encouragement and every act of support has helped carry me to this moment. Without you, these paintings would simply exist. Because of you, they have a life beyond my studio. New York, I’m honored to announce that one week from today my first Spotlight exhibition, Held Space, opens in your city at @albertzbenda . I hope you’ll join us on July 9th as we celebrate the debut of this new body of work and the conversations it invites. Held Space centers on the transfer of life, care, and identity between people. Through selective rendering, the figures reveal moments of giving and receiving, where growth occurs through touch, presence, and dependence.
