Wow! Today we made our first long distance journey since this time last year. I really wanted to see the exhibition, 'Time and Place' by @threadmill_textiles group. I've followed its creative members for a while, after initially stumbling across gorgeous textile artworks made by @mikki.1964 - aka, Michelle Ault. I've been unable to get to previous exhibitions Michelle has been in due to the distance and the limitations of my precarious health. It was very touch-and-go this morning whether I'd be able to cope with both getting dressed and the journey – even after a month of "actively resting" in preparation. We decided to brake up the traveling so I could rest on the way and have a picnic. We got there in the afternoon. We only got 2 hours in Macclesfield, but it was so worth it and I wouldn't have managed much longer. It was just enough time to view the little art exhibition and even meet the very lovely Michelle in the flesh, over tea and cake in the @silkmuseum The sun even shone for us! I'm very ready for a long lie down now and I will probably need to go quiet online for a fair while again - just so you're aware. So I'm still here, and I'll still be online. I'm just unable to make art right now as it's too exerting. I can and will still respond to messages though on better days. Thank you so much for all those of you who've noticed my absence and stayed in touch one way or another. It really does help me deal with my isolation.💓
