Currently construction a chapter of ‘The Present Parent, 7 levels of intuitive parenting ‘ the importance of many pursuits of my life have just unveiled themselves- especially in he 23 years of restoring 8 listed buildings and creating @threads_throughtime.

Before I had any understanding of neuroscience, before I dove into the countless self-help books that would later shape my healing and parenting, there was a part of me that already knew about the internal workings of my body, mind and spirit and it was the whispers of intuition guiding me all along .
With each of my children—first, second, third, and fourth—I became more certain that I needed to be in a space that allowed me to meet their needs while still expressing my creativity. This was about the tactile, grounding experience of creating something beautiful with my hands that fulfilled my needs.

Threadwork and silkwork became my sanctuary, a way to weave together not just fabric, but a sense of purpose and place. At the same time I was drawn to period properties that needed TLC. It was the ancient structures, the original essence of these old buildings that called to me. As I stripped away the layers of time, revealing the true nature of the house, whether it was brick, lime, oak, or stone something unveiled in me. From there, I would rebuild, restore, and then drape these spaces in the beautiful furnishings I had crafted.

Headed off to the marshes around Blakeney yesterday so took my newly made jacket for its first outing. We went seal watching off Blakeney point, then to the harbour for an afternoons crabbing. Oysters and crab sandwiches for lunch followed by ice cream later, and a little trip via Cley on the way home. This stretch of coast is so incredibly beautiful, thankfully I’ve found it incredibly restful and a real tonic. It’s so quiet and just to sit and watch the sunshine light up the sea is an absolute joy.
