POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We finished filming the Mario kart 2 down the Dequindre cut. A fun way highlighting all the amazing bike trails throughout the city of Detroit.

As I am still going through footage and waiting for some more, I have to admit this was a blast. I had so much fun hanging with so many of my friends and making new friends.

I can’t wait to share with all you guys the finished product, but here are some behind-the-scenes photos.

Thanks for everything, Detroit. You owe us nothing! The Winn-Bryant-Gilmore Family Reunion marked it's 55th anniversary that coincides with 250 years of America. One of the weekend activities for the reunion was a history tour of @visitdetroit led by family member Henry Ford II @threeonethird. Our trip featured some gems that are @motownmuseum @easternmarket @michigancentraldetroit and a finale visit to @thefashionstationshop that features couture designs by family member & mellinnial Jalyssa Granger-Smith.

For this reunion, we honored our ancestors and created new fun memories with the family. I was grateful for the honor to organize my family's 2026 reunion.

For months, I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind.

There’s an art installation along the Southwest Greenway where colorful lights line the path. After it rains—or when it’s covered in snow—it reminds me of Rainbow Road from Mario Kart. Every time I ride through there, I can’t help but play the music and feel like a kid again.

When the weather finally warmed up, I decided to bring the idea to life. The plan was simple: dress up as Mario, film some bike shots, and recreate Rainbow Road in Detroit. If people enjoyed it, maybe we’d add more characters and make it a series.

The first person I called was my friend Henry @threeonethird . I’ve known him for well over a decade through the biking community. I asked if he’d be willing to be Bowser, and without hesitation he said, “I’m in.”

Then I reached out to Lauren and my hermano @carlos_parisi , who loved the idea just as much as I did.

With the characters set, we headed to @flamingovintagedetroit in Southwest Detroit to find costumes. It was so much fun getting them involved. They were excited about the project and even had an actual Luigi costume they let us borrow for the video.

My friend @rebeccajaneblanton also jumped in to help capture some drone footage. I always enjoy creating with people who aren’t afraid to say yes to a fun idea.

We filmed everything in about an hour, and honestly, it was some of the most fun I’ve had creating content in a long time.

We laughed, acted ridiculous, and forgot about views and algorithms for a while.

I don’t know if this video will end up being anyone’s favorite. But I know it gave five friends an excuse to spend an afternoon together making something that made us smile. If it brings a little joy to someone else too, then it was worth every minute.

Some of my favorite ideas come while I’m on my bike with the wind in my face. You never know where the next ride—or the next crazy idea—might lead.

Here we go! Introducing Detroit’s very own Rainbow Road 🌈🏁⭐🍄

Opened in May 2023, the Southwest Greenway runs just over half a mile along a former rail corridor, connecting Detroit’s iconic @michigancentraldetroit to Detroit’s new 22-acre park Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park!

By day, it’s one of Detroit’s newest paths for walking, biking and rolling between Corktown, Mexicantown, Southwest Detroit and the @detroitriverfront. By night, colorful lights turn it into what looks like a real-life Rainbow Road. 🌃🚲🍌

The lighting magic comes from Yazmin Dababneh @yazdabart and her YayaLand Takeover IV art installation, a light-based installation that uses dichroic film and color along the greenway. 🌈✨

Also at the Bagley Mobility Hub, Patrick Ethen’s @patrickethen light installation fills the south-facing stairwell with slow-moving neon patterns, creating a glowing wall that can be seen from both inside and outside the building. ⭐

The greenway also features several other public art pieces, including work by @senghorreid and The Yard Graffiti Museum. The Southwest Greenway is also part of the broader 27.5-mile @jlouisgreenway, tying the Detroit Riverwalk, Dequindre Cut and neighborhood pathways into a growing loop through Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park and Dearborn.

You can also ride it all the way to other Detroit attractions like @belleisleconservancy and @easternmarket. 🌳🌿

Send this to the Mario lover in your life and we’ll see you on the greenway! 🏁

I’ve had an idea for a video for a couple months now and I’m finally going to re-create it. I’m launching the video tonight around 6 PM.

this video was so much fun making, and I can’t wait for all of you to see it. I got to make the video with some of my closest friends like. @carlos_parisi , @threeonethird , @rebeccajaneblanton and Loren, which made it that much more special.

Big, thank you @flamingovintagedetroit

And shout out to @detroitcityfootballclub

one year ago we took our final ride with @unklebigmike 🚲 it was one of the most special things I have had the chance to be a part of, and it brought me great joy and peace knowing he got to participate before departing our realm. ✨ today I think of him and the wonderful community he built here on earth.
