If you are not willing to fail,
you are not ready to succeed.

Make mistakes, learn from them,
make new mistakes, better mistakes...
Because mistakes and
small moments of failure
are part of success.

That's the only way
you can develop further.

If you are brave enough
to look beyond your usual boundaries,
you might discover
that a form of freedom, authenticity
and self-determination,
that you never expected,
is waiting for you there.

And yes, a little fear is part of it.
Otherwise it wouldn't be brave 🤗.

So go out there,
make yourself great,
have courage,
to be yourself with all your colors.

The world is looking forward to you.
And the right people are happy with you.

🇩🇪

Wenn Du nicht bereit bist, zu versagen,
bist Du auch nicht bereit für den Erfolg.

Mach Fehler, lerne draus,
mach neue Fehler, bessere Fehler...
Denn Fehler und kleine Momente
des Versagens sind Teil des Erfolges.
Nur so entwickelst Du Dich weiter.

Wenn Du den Mut aufbringst,
hinter Deine vertrauten Grenzen zu schauen,
stellst Du vielleicht fest,
dass dort eine Form von Freiheit,
Authentizität und Selbstbestimmung
auf Dich wartet,
mit der Du nie gerechnet hast.

Und ja, ein wenig Angst gehört dazu.
Sonst wäre es ja nicht mutig 🤗.

Also geh da raus, mach Dich groß,
hab Mut, sei Du selbst mit allen Farben.
Die Welt freut sich auf Dich.
Und die richtigen Leute mit Dir.

Happy Birthday Luna 🎂 You would have turned 16 today.

Miss you buddy. Thanks for being there when I needed you. Don’t worry your bed is still on my sofa just where you left it and your tea cup is filled with water whenever you’re thirsty.

I can hear you purring away and glad you have company with Chum 🐶 and Mei 😽. Happy 16th little buddy. 🐈‍⬛

Simple prime rib roast with gravy and wasabi-jyoyu 😋

Today’s delicious butter herb prime rib roast recipe is thanks to Lisa @downshiftology and just halved the ingredients and time half the size for a wonderful finish including the gravy.

Dessert was thanks to friends who brought a home made matcha rice crispy square which was delicious!

Deliciously simple Salmon Zuke Donburi 鮭の漬け丼 😋

This is one of those meals you wish you could share with others!

Salmon Sashimi is thanks to @blackjackfoodtrading (it came to only $10 🇨🇦 for the entire bowl of sashimi 😳 If you haven’t been there yet you’re missing out!)

For the marinade it is just equal parts shoyu, mirin and sake that was heated to burn off the sake and cooled to marinate the salmon while preparing the rest of the meal.

Salad is a mix of natto, umeboshi and okra topped with katsuobushi and a simple dashi dressing 👍

いただきます! ❤️ Bon appetit! 🙏

Deliciously simple Shogayaki with Matsutake Chawanmushi and ika karaage 😋

This is my very first chawanmushi and I have to say it was delicious - savoury egg custard that was so soft and tasty - thank you so much Nami-San @justonecookbook for your recipe!

And the ginger pork was so tender and sweet I don’t think I can get pork anywhere else but @blackjackfoodtrading - so good 👍

And the calamari ika kaarage was so simple by sharing the marinade with the shogayaki but also adding sesame oil and loosely following @justonecookbook recipe for chicken kaarage 👌(squid was also from @blackjackfoodtrading)

Quick and simple Japanese style lunch with natto, tamagoyaki, misoshiru and shiokoji kyuuri and kimchi 😋

It is so satisfying to have ochazuke at the end with the pickled cucumbers. This is my first time pickling cucumbers in shiokoji and it was quite tasty 👍

Thank you for the recipe Yumiko-San @recipe_tin 🙏

My favorite comfort food with a twist: 麻婆豆腐 mabodofu scramble on vermicelli 😋

This is based on Nami-san’s mabodofu recipe from @justonecookbook but with a twist thanks to @nytcooking by adding a soft dashi scrambled egg and then another twist to lay this on top of vermicelli and topped with home made chili oil for added kick 🌶️👍

My first meal back home in Vancouver after 3 weeks in #YEG 😋

Thankfully had some gyoza I had made waiting for me in the freezer to make a quick vermicelli sui-gyoza in a dashi soup topped with kimchi and hot home made chili oil for some extra fa fa fa fa fa fire 🔥

Gyoza and chili oil thanks to Nami-san’s recipe @justonecookbook 👍

Simple kimchi ramen with home made gyoza 😋

Quick lunch before a ride out on the bike for a few days. Made home made gyoza the night before and put together a home made pork broth kimchi and red chili soup to enjoy with Korean instant noodles… Sorry! Didn’t have fresh ramen at home today but this was a nice mix of home made + instant 🥰

Gyoza thanks to @justonecookbook as always with a few tweaks of my own 👍
