In 2010, Randy Guijarro stopped at a small antique store and bought three old photos for just $2.

One of them looked like an ordinary group photo until he realized one of the men appeared to be Billy the Kid.

After years of research and authentication, the photo was insured for over $5 million, making it only the second known image of the famous outlaw.

Not a bad return on a $2 thrift find.

Why do these things never happen to me?! What an amazing find. #OnSaturdaysWeWearFoundDiamonds #antiqueroadshow #emeraldsanddiamonds #saturdayvibes

From @thriftingtreasurepage She spotted it in a thrift store jewelry case for $6.10 and grabbed it instantly. A jeweler confirmed gold and diamonds but the green stones were a mystery. A gemologist later identified them as Colombian emeralds. Victorian-era, circa 1895, with an owl import mark for France. Appraised on Antiques Roadshow at $50,000–$60,000. Imperfect emeralds, exactly right for the era. Found for $6.10. How many people passed it by?
