POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

19 Years Ago Today, Kanye West Released Graduation.
Graduation is the third studio album by the American rapper Kanye West. It was released on September 11, 2007, through Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. Recording sessions took place between 2005 and 2007 at several studios in New York and Los Angeles. It was primarily produced by West himself, with contributions from various other producers, including DJ Toomp. The album features guest appearances from recording artists such as Dwele, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Mos Def, DJ Premier, and Chris Martin. The cover art, which features West’s mascot at the time Dropout Bear in a new cartoon form, had its interior artwork designed by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.
Inspired by stadium tours, house music and indie rock, Graduation marked a departure from the ornate, soul-based sound of West’s previous releases as he musically progressed to more anthemic compositions. West incorporated layered synthesizers and dabbled with electronics while sampling from various music genres and altering his approach to rapping. He conveys an ambivalent outlook on his newfound fame and media scrutiny alongside providing inspirational messages of triumph directed at listeners. The album prematurely concludes the education theme of West’s first two studio albums, The College Dropout (2004) and Late Registration (2005).

💫🤲🏽📿25 YEARS AGO TODAY GIVE THANKS ..

What an incredible journey and way too much to acknowledge to share in one post ..

From today I will start my second 25 years to show why I emphasized the TURN ABLE in turntable JAZZ from the beginning ..

In order to look back we gonna move forward and turn things upside down.

Spending 25 years exploring the turntables and many formats & combinations live on stage it’s time to explore the jazz and studio more and create everlasting new pieces that can stand the test of time ..

Dedicating my life to the wax culture and grassroots venues been a university that made me create and learn so much more music and art I am grateful to focus the next 25 years more on my studio time ..

Of course I will continue to play live shows and dj but what was upbringing is now turning into everlasting creations and output..

For the harvest time i will move more to my African homeland and spent also time along my trees and farm and use the nature to inspire my art .

But since it’s also a new start i will relaunch the label and restart releasing records and art and also gonna bring my new babies in pop ups and on special tours along since I will also make sure my olive oil and other new creations will be available worldwide ..

ESSEN, DÜSSELDORF, COLOGNE thank you for having me and i will be forever grateful .. time to move on but will keep some embassy work in cologne in rotation..

More soon..
So much more to finish and start :)

💫 Another missing memory relocated..
On this day 22 years ago I invited GUNKHOLE to our MONDAY TURNTABLE JAZZ SESSIONS which I hosted for 7 years in DUESSELDORF b4 taking the TEE to COLOGNE in 2007..

Along DJ RAFIK we jammed in outta space with some of the best local artists and formed COSMIC DELIVERY ..

The formation faded away after I moved to the forbidden city but I kept on dreaming in reuniting one day ..

Meanwhile I studied music & records for 20+years and founded some new projects that I am releasing for the relaunch of TURNTABLE JAZZ as label for its 25th anniversary this September..

Enjoy and follow @p28takeoff & @x100.remember2remember for more details soon about my new squads!

Stay tuned in and out 💫❤️🛸✨🙏🏽⚡️🌍🪐

BLESSED SUNDAY 2 YOU ALL..

When I was cleaning up for spring I found some of my old flyers that brought back a lot of memories and music to my mind 💡🙏🏽⚡️

25 years ago I started my mission to bring jazz & wax poets together to form a new improvised live format transcending skills and creativity into something greater than just the summary of our talents..

We called our sonic vibe instruMENTALFREEFLOWfortheheadz and created one monday per month interdisciplinary TURNTABLE JAZZ session including visuals & art that we included in the project’s presentation..

Working with @vincentgootzenvisual was PROFOUND for me and seeing these pictures being created along our music was essential for my development as artists.. eternally grateful 🙏🏽

Our monthly sessions carried a special vibe that was also shaping all of us as artists and bond us into a full band named COSMIC DELIVERY some months later than these flyers from 22 years ago..

Playing and creating music along so incredibly creative musicians was challenging but also rewarding and inspiring me to learn music ..

We recorded some great music live & in the studio but I never managed to finish those sessions into a full album or record..

But it birthed the understanding that my l road was keeping these sessions the foundation and use the next years to learn more about music and its uniqueness and mystery, while also keeping on spinning records and mastering the craft of the art of djing..

Sharing the stage and booth with some of the greatest ever made me realise not only my limits and respect for the GOATS and INNOVATORS but also my own full potential and developments in time ..

25 years later I am about to finally start to release my new project @p28takeoff along my partner from the block @gregorschwellenbach and also was able to match my love for art by collaborating by another blessed painter for the upcoming record .

@anuarkhalifi understood our work so deeply and his painting of the SPACE IS THE PLACE resting dancer in front of the pyramids in 1971 made an instant impressions beyond words..

When I saw the very same picture on my own olive oil bottles arriving finally in February it’s spring time ✨
