Now that the tears have settled, I think I can make this announcement…

Let me tell you about my God. In 2018, I made the decision to attend UAB, and it was the best decision I made. There were times that the thought of quitting crossed my mind. However, in the end it was all worth it. Through lows, the highs, the late nights, and all the tears.. I did it! I downplay a lot of things, but this is without a doubt one of the most proudest moments I’ve ever had. These past 4.5 years taught me a lot, and without them I wouldn’t be the amazing, accomplished, beautiful young woman that I’ve become.

To my parents, siblings, family and friends. Thank you for always being there and reminding that I could do it. Every phone call, every text, y’all were there and never let me give up on me. Y’all gave me reason when I thought there wasn’t any. You made me laugh even when all I wanted to do was cry and I love you for it. Thank you for believing in me, and backing me in every decision I’ve made.

To my Kevin , you know what you’ve done. You know how you’ve helped me. You know that I love you. Thank you for always being there, and being a light when I felt surrounded by darkness.

To DeAndrea Zeneé Jones, you did it baby girl. You should be very very proud of yourself. You know your goals. You know your plan. You’re understanding your purpose… never let anyone tell you what you cannot do. Because you have proven you can do whatever you set your mind to, and so much more. You’ve become such a beautiful and strong young woman. Life isn’t done with you.

I’m finally done with the B.S., and honey I did the damn thing! I can’t wait to see where my new journey will take me, but for now I’m gonna take a breath, smile big, and soak up my accomplishment. On December 10, 2022 , I officially graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, B.S., in Psychology with a certificate in Mental Health and a minor in Social Work.

Go Blazers! 🐉🥳
