The sentence that stood out to me most is ‘How you wake up each day and your morning routine dramatically affects your levels of success in every area of your life’.

I am going to try and incorporate parts of this book into my daily routine. This involves waking up earlier which is a challenge, especially since I have a tendency to sleep late 🙈 Wish me luck! Do you follow a set morning routine?

EALING HALF MARATHON (21.08km) ✅🤩🏃‍♀️

Some of you may remember my running journey began during lockdown in March 2020 using the couch to 5K app. The winter months saw a decline in running due to excuses about the rain and cold. Earlier this year the PTA at my children’s local school encouraged teachers and parents to run the @ealinghalfmarathon
.
.
From my regular 5km I managed to complete just over 21km today for the first time in my life! I cannot thank my family, the coaches and school group enough for tips, support and courage to do this! From a non-runner early 2020 to a half marathon runner in 2021. Chuffed to say the least! 🥰
If you swipe through you will see I had tears in my eyes at the finish line I was so happy!

Khaman Dhokla served with coriander and coconut chutney.

Don't underestimate this Gujarati dish. Those who have tasted the traditional, well made Dhokla can't deny how flavoursome and addictive it is. I always add crushed ginger and chillies to my batter.

Tadka is made from mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves and split green chillies then garnished with fresh chopped coriander.

My poll from few weeks ago. Here is my recipe for a tomato chutney to be served with idli, dosa or coconut rice.

Ingredients for chutney
6 medium size tomatoes chopped
1 medium onion chopped
4-6 red or green chillies (it can be adjusted to your taste I like 6 in my chutney)
1/2 tbsp urad Dal or 1 tbsp roughly chopped peanuts
1 tbsp Chana Dal
3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tbsp turmeric
2 tbsp coconut oil
Salt to taste

For tempering
1/2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp urad Dal
3-4 curry leaves or Kadi patta
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp hing or asafoetida
1 red chilli broken

Method
* In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and on medium flame roast urad and channa Dal till they are deep golden.* Add cumin seeds and let it roast for a minute. Now take out the mixture and let it cool down.* In the same pan add 1 tbsp oil add chillies and roast them till they are crispy. Add chopped onions and garlic. Fry for 3-5 minutes. Then add tomatoes, salt and turmeric. Cook till it goes mushy. *Cool the mixture, and grind it along with the Dal mixture to a smooth paste. Add water if you need to to get the right consistency.
Tempering for chutney
In a separate pan add oil. Once heated add mustard seeds and urad Dal. Roast them till Dal is deep golden. Now add curry leaves and red chillies. Fry them till they get crisp. Add asafoetida and turn the flame off. Your tempering is ready. Add this to the tomato chutney. Your chutney is now ready to be served.
