Weaving Cosmologies – dreymendur og draumgjafar is a single exhibition unfolding across two locations; Skaftfell and Þula. Curated by Þórhildur Tinna Sigurðardóttir, the exhibition brings together works by Gerður Helgadóttir, Kristín Morthens, Hayden Dunham, Cecilia Fiona and Morehshin Allahyari. On display are historical works, commissioned works and new renditions of installations adjusted by the artists specifically for Weaving Cosmologies.

The practitioners' individual artistic approaches differ, but a shared thread runs through their work. They intersect through religious worldbuilding, embodied ways of making, speculative fiction and historical research. Their practices are deeply devotional: they are committed to making art in order to better fathom their human and beyond-human existence. This tendency reaches beyond their material explorations in sculpture, video, sound, textile, installation, painting and ritual, extending into the processes through which new works take form.

They are dreamers, dreamgivers and weavers.

Openings

CHART 2026

#MeetTheGallery — We’re delighted to welcome @thula.gallery back to Charlottenborg for #CHART2026, where the gallery will join the Main Section.

For CHART 2026, Þula presents the duo presentation ‘Weathering’ by Tolli Morthens (@tollimorthens) and Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir (@steinunnthorarinsdottir).

In Tolli’s oil paintings of the Icelandic landscape - depicting the highlands and glaciers - the raw power and vastness of nature come vividly to life. The sculptures of Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir, portraying contemplative human figures, introduce a quiet dialogue between humanity and its surroundings. Together, these mediums create a multifaceted conversation about presence, perception, and the profound relationship between humans and their environment.
