And finally, Vata ☁️

The third and last part of my Ayurveda-inspired fashion series!

Vata is associated with air and space, so I wanted this shoot to feel light, free and full of movement

When I think of Vata, I think of creativity, spontaneity and a little bit of chaos. The sheer fabrics, warm tones and all that movement felt like the perfect way to bring that energy to life.

@thushalstudios saw me almost fall off of this concrete pillar for this but it was worth it 😅

Putting these three shoots together reminded me how much I’ve missed creating fashion content just for the sake of creating something beautiful that tells a story

I actually started on IG years ago to share my love for fashion, and somewhere along the way, my interests shifted more toward wellness and Ayurveda. I still love all of that, but I’ve been feeling really inspired to explore fashion, styling and creative direction again so this felt like a perfect start to that 🥹🤍

Part two of my little experiment in bringing Ayurveda into fashion!

This time we’ve brought to life the Pitta dosha

In Ayurveda, Pitta is associated with fire and water, which I thought was such an interesting contrast to play with visually

I knew I wanted to use red for this one, but I also wanted to bring in water to balance out that intensity

The sheer red fabric, the darker lighting, the movement in the water… I wanted the whole thing to feel a little dramatic, powerful and almost mysterious

One of my favorite things about creating is figuring out how to turn a feeling or an idea into something visual. And this series has been such a fun way to do that with @thushalstudios

I’ve been wanting to bring more of my love for fashion and creative direction back onto this page, and I thought this could be a fun way to start 🥹🫶🏽

A little while ago, I had the idea of interpreting the three Ayurvedic doshas through fashion and photography. Not necessarily in a literal way, but more about how each one feels to me

Starting with Kapha, which is associated with earth and water.

When I think of Kapha, I think of softness, stability and feeling grounded. I wanted to bring that feeling into the styling through earthy greens, textured fabrics, fresh flowers and sculptural gold jewelry

I loved playing with the contrast of all these natural, delicate elements against the heavier gold pieces.

It’s been so fun getting to explore this side of my creativity again while bringing in something I’ve grown to love so much over the years

She has range ~ I love the song I chose here because this song is a bit different than desi songs I normally listen to.. which for the most part usually reinforce traditional gender norms and family dynamics. This is about a woman who was left by her husband and daughter, as her husband had dismissed her and did not see her personal achievements. But somehow in that time of loneliness and isolation, it became a moment of rebirth, reinvention, challenging convention and fulfilling her personal dreams.

Every photo in this photoshoot with @thushalstudios and @theaymansyed is pure perfection. I feel like our work together keeps getting better and better 🥹
