Our road trip is coming to an end. We discovered so many interesting, beautiful places, met incredible, warm people, heard countless stories. We lived it. We watched our daughter grow, an unstoppable force. We were sometimes too tired. We argued and made peace. Understood a little more about where we want to go, and what we want to explore further. Spent more money than we ever imagined. Doubted the whole point of the trip — and then saw it. We found inspiration and hope again. We are bringing it home. And we will build our new home somewhere else, in the future.

A PERFECT SUNDAY— Any day that starts out with me seeing my bestie Ben @thefarmersfeastinc is a great one. I met him in town Sunday after he attended a yoga class in Hudson, and after a coffee and crumb cake at @hudson_roastery we drove into a nearby cemetery to take some pictures. Ben was still feeling the athletic vibes, so he did some sprints and handstands and I took a few shots. I don’t have a warmer, sweeter or more affectionate friend. If more men were like Ben we’d have a much happier planet. I just wish we had more free time to spend together. Afterwards I drove off and made some stops at some favorite places. I started with a beer at @spottydogbooks, where I took a shot of a a dude deep into Murakami’s “IQ84” and a gal equally engrossed with Barbara Kingsolver’s “Demon Copperhead.” I have not read either. Have you? After that I stopped at @ok_saisonnier and had a Hudson Valley cheeseboard. Would be such a great place for a denim hang, but it’s a bit of a schlepp from New York City. People there are super sweet and the beer and cheese are yummy. Also decided Sunday to bust out my Rancho boots from @urbanshepherdboots. Inspired by Portuguese riding boots, they have a distinctive profile and some wonderful details, like the red accents and stitching. Love the color, too. I’m going to try to wear them more often. Despite their height they are easy to pull on and extremely comfortable, signs that that are very well made by proprietor @tiago.maximo. Going to have a big family barbecue this weekend, so lots of shopping and cooking to do tomorrow. My in laws are the loveliest people: warm, fun, kind and easy going. Really looking forward to it! What are you looking forward to doing this weekend? Whatever it is, have a great one! _____ • Shirt: @ironheartdenim • Jeans: @therealmccoys.jp #selvedgedenim • Belt: @leftfieldnyc • Boots: @urbanshepherdboots #ruggedstyle #mensstyle #urbanshepherdboots #hudsonvalley

Creating a family is a learning process. You learn to love someone beyond attraction, beyond the idea of love.
It’s like building a house stone by stone — slow, sometimes heavy, often imperfect. Still, worth everything.
It asks you to stay present when things feel fragile. To grow alongside another human without guarantees, but with raw honesty. It teaches patience, humility, devotion. It asks you to stay when it would be easier to leave, to listen when you’d rather speak. We both knew early on we wanted to create this life together. And we are so grateful for everything!
