8 years ago today I woke up in beautiful Woodstock. What a joyous morning that was - the closing days of winter and the anticipation of Spring ahead. The picture was taken by @tibet_effect, as we made this stop along a tour of small concerts, one of many we would do in the years to follow. Tenzin is in town again now for the first time in a few years, and and we hope you will join us next Monday for more music, for a special Spring Equinox celebration in our beloved @elizabethstreetgarden.

We will share music and songs, and the magical and wonderful @thealchemistskitchen will offer a special tea ceremony. At 5:24 when the Equinox happens, Tenzin will hang prayer flags in the trees and offer a prayer for a bountiful and joyous spring season ahead. And the sculpture garden itself it just always an inspiring and uplifting place to visit. It will be so nice. Details are all on the poster or check the garden website. Looking forward and hope to see you there!!

This night will mark a monumental and crucial moment in history, as it will be first evening of the United Nations Climate Meetings (COP26) taking place from Oct 31 - Nov 12 in Glasgow. This is the time for our world to join together to ramp up ambitions and action plans to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees.

The concert will feature our regular Pathway to Paris contributors from the last 7 years: @thisispattismith , @michiganmanhattan @foonbeck @tibet_effect , and @350org founder, Bill McKibben. Also joining will be @soundwalkcollective in collaboration with Patti Smith and Jesse Paris Smith, performing CRISIS OF THE LOST, a sound piece composed of underwater recordings deriving from the TBA21–Academy sound archive that documents the voice of ocean life in contrast with the destructive impact of manmade acoustic pollution over all species of marine life. The live performance is accompanied by visualizations by Territorial Agency to provide visceral insights into the scale and mechanics of the ecological threat that is sound pollution in the ocean.

Pathway to Paris Co-founders, @michiganmanhattan and @foonbeck will be performing and speaking throughout the evening, along with others to be announced soon.

This night will serve as an international call to action, urging the global community to ramp up the efforts to levels unseen, to be more ambitious than ever before in order to create a climate safe future for all. Art and music, the voices of activists must be represented at these talks, and we will do everything we can to make your voices heard. Together, and only together, we have a chance. 🙌🏻

Happy Birthday from us all to Bill McKibben, our fearless leader in the climate movement and in this world. Not only is he one of our greatest activists, one of the leading thinkers of our time, co-founder of @350org, the first to write a book on climate change (End of Nature), someone who is tirelessly working on behalf of us all and our planet every single day, but he is also our dear friend. Bill, we are inspired by you every day. Thank you for everything that you do. Let's all take our action to the next level today and beyond. Let's make a pledge to be more like Bill. We love you!! 'In Bardo' is a project I have serious love and respect for. Just some good ol' fashion run and gun filmmaking with my home boy and director @reluctantjim . People who say you can't get creative with documentaries has never directed, shot or edited one; trying to make something that represents you as an artist whilst juggling with the lack of control is a big ask but we somehow managed to do it. I am so proud of what the crew was able to achieve. Big shout out to my homeboy and colourist in Hongkong @sosoishero for being such a close collaborator these past years - I couldn't have done it without you.

One year ago today we had our annual event at Carnegie Hall in NYC, the evening before Cop23. It was a beautiful and powerful evening of music, words, speeches, poetry, and live actions taken with the audience. It was an historic night to remember, and we are thankful for all who participated. Thank you all for being Climate leaders. #pathwaytoparis #carnegiehall #nyc #climatechange #anniversary first 3 photos by @stevensebring
