I’m honored to be featured in @artsgowanus annual #QueerMuralWalk @oldstonehousebklyn for the past 3 years of #PrideMonth! Sponsored by @lgbtbrooklyn & thanks 🙏 @emilychiavelli and her team! After I dealt with harassment for calling out RIVAA Gallery for defending a toxic 🤮 white cishet man for using Ai 🤖 and stripping me from their #Pride show days before! I’m grateful 🥹 to the universe for helping me find other avenues to promote my art 🖼️ With other #QueerArtists and being this year, my favorite 🤩 is @afrocentrickeyy 👏 I also have a 🆓 show with @ppawspuppetry & a joke on @mulan when I had the hots for the commander! 🤤 I originally submitted my graphic design of protest art 🪧 to @nycpride for their competition to be on their merch, but my journey always makes me lead back to Brooklyn where I hail from! 💋 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚧️ 🌈 🌞 ☔️ 😊 🐈 💄 💃🏾 #RIPErykaCaldwell

Give Back Market Vendor Spotlight! Caitlyn McLaughlin @catemac is an artist and educator who explores the essential role textiles play in our lives and the deeply human connection we have with cloth. Through mostly quilting and object making, she makes work about memory, comfort, labor. She is based in Brooklyn, NY. Luce Threads @luce.threads is a clothing and design brand that creates unique, one of a kind pieces using recycled materials and natural dyes. Julia Scheiber @tiedandyed_ I’m deeply attracted to the unpredictable nature of dyeing. I’ve been at it for half my life and I still never know exactly what the results will look like. But that’s the beauty of the art form, the not knowing. I love to turn to intuition, responding to the fabric and how it wants to be, thinking about color combinations that I might’ve seen that day. The process of following the fabric through folding and dyeing and the eventual reveal is just special. Each of my dyes are made with love, and my hope is to share that love with those who interact with my work. 🎀 Join us December 13th & 14th from 12-7pm at our annual Give Back Market!
