THE SILENCE

Where I used to sing, the melody left a note,
its quiet resolution echoes in the blessed mist.
Thought emerged from the spirit, left the throat,
brightened the gaze and unclenched the fist.

Where I used to swim, the waves made a boat,
its sturdy sales defy the wind and the storm.
Matter rose from ash with a single thought,
particles kissing under the sky, joined into form.

Where I used to dream, the dreams left a book,
its ancient pages filled with an infinite list.
All actions taken with a distinct daughter’s look
Brightened the gaze and unclenched the fist.

“The man who can be trusted in little things can be trusted also in great; and the man who is dishonest in little things is dishonest also in great things. If then, you have not proved trustworthy with the wealth of this world, who will trust you with the wealth that is real? And if you have proved untrustworthy with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own?”

🏁 Our Black History London Landmarks 10K run for charity was a SUCCESS! Not only did we get an epic turnout (despite the weather ☔️) but we hit our target of raising £1k for @blackmindsmatter.uk 🥳

Thank you so much to everyone who donated, supported and took part! Thanks also to Tony Warner who inspired us with his “Black History Walks & Cruises” 🖤

And MEGA congrats to those who hit some new distance PBs 🏆🥳 absolutely smashed it!

If anyone fancies doing the route in their own time to join us in spirit, here’s the full route (make sure to tag me so I can celebrate and reshare!) https://goo.gl/maps/QvJzBmjWr9Q5qRkB6
