Happy birthday my sleepy boy. Yesterday KaiKai turned 5! What a year. It’s been a hard one that’s for sure. This crazy psycho has been my rock especially with everything that happened this last year. He never fails to make me laugh though. Here’s to more adventures and a better happier year. Swipe to see some photos of his year ❤️

✨ Happy Birthday Jango Bango!! ✨

This kid, y’all. 😂😬 What an absolute HANDFUL he has been! Here are some adventures we’ve had together so far:

🚙💨 *Quite* a few roadtrips! Together we’ve been to Missouri, Montana, Idaho, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, Nebraska, and Wyoming!
🏜️ We’ve been to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Gateway Arch National Parks; Bonneville Salt Flats and White Pocket; Pink Coral Sand Dunes, Wire Pass Slot Canyon, Sand Caves, and Belly of the Beast in Kanab; Corona Arch and Jeep Arch in Moab; Little Sahara, Antelope Island, Goblin Valley, and Goosenecks State Parks in Utah… the list goes on and on.
📸 This boy is *the* reason I finally made the leap into photography and got a real camera, and he has been my muse since Day *1*.
🦬 We’ve seen wild bison, the northern lights, the earth from 63 stories high, ice stacks on the lake, hot air balloon festivals, and *countless* sunsets together.
🦷 A cracked and chipped TOOTH that had to be pulled, because *someone* is too aggressive a chewer 🙄
💅 COUNTLESS broken nails 😆 (he’s got one right now)
🐶 We found and welcomed a new dog into our clan who has become our best friend.
🏕️🏄🥾 And of course, camping, paddle boarding, and SO. MUCH. HIKING!

And there are, as we know, many many more adventures to come. 😊 Can’t wait.

To my little crackheaded, psycho, gremlin-piranha-hedgehog boy, Happy 4th bud. 🧡

(With that, please enjoy a new photo, and of course some of my personal all time faves!)

Here are some paintings I did last year for friends and family!

⚔️🐲 I’ve been wanting to do this one since my sister and I got Jango and Beo, and she named her puppy Beowolf. So here is Jango’s brother Beowolf as a fearless knight! @belly_and_the_beowolf

🐈 The two best cats and guardian angels. I painted this one for my best friend after she tragically lost both cats. RIP Chloe and Racacuni. 🧡 @happycos

🦊 A *very late* trade for Amy @tifa_the_pomsky of her gorgeous pomsky Tifa!

🐕🐾 Christmas gift for my mom of her dog Lili. My mom is in her 70’s and my family has always had at least one dog in the house so she’s had quite a few, but this is her heart dog and it makes me *SO* happy. ✨

It’s really cool to see these all next to each other in this post, and seeing them like this makes me feel like they’re actually pretty good! 😆

I’m planning on doing a lot of painting and other art this year, and I’ll be opening up an Etsy shop to sell prints and probably do commissioned orders, so keep an eye out! 🤭

We’ve had a cold front come through in Florida and it’s cold out for us so Mommy got back out my University of Utah coat to keep me warm that my good friend Tifa’s mom made for me when we lived back in Utah. #goutes #universityofutah #universityofutahbaseball #universityofutahfootball #coldfront #friendmadeit #mycoat #coldinflorida #verobeach #verobeachflorida #blizzarddapomsky

Nature is everything.
It is the glue that holds humanity together.
It is the medicine to heal a broken heart.
It is the therapy to help a wounded mind.
It is the compass to guide a lost soul.

I have been all of those things this year. I have needed all of those things this year. I have been broken by lost friendships, and healed by new ones. I’ve had moments where I’ve lost faith in humanity, and moments when it’s been restored. Nature is the constant that is always there, giving its strength to make up for my weakness.

I compiled photos from the year of some of my favorite and most memorable moments in nature. Many of the photos are with people that shared those moments with me, because for me, I feel closer to people when we’re in nature, and I feel closer to nature when I’m with my people.

The solar eclipse in April. Accompanied by meeting, photographing, and falling in love with my brother’s family. It was a moment of intense personal connection, surrounded by a sense of worldwide connection. All because of nature showing off with a glorious cosmic event. I remember and cherish the dandelions from the photoshoot as much as the eclipse.

In May, PBS Arizona invited me and my dogs to the Grand Canyon to talk about two of my biggest loves: dogs and hiking. Then I met two Polish strangers in the middle of the desert where we shared and enjoyed our mutual loves for dogs, photography, and nature.

Throughout the year I chased the northern lights and a comet, with both failures and successes. I made memories with friends as we went camping, hiking and exploring.

In June I reunited with my best friend in Mexico and made new friends. Together we shared the joy of feminine friendship as we danced on the beach and enjoyed the dreamy Sayulita weather.

A praying mantis that wandered into work to cheer me up on a morning where I felt terrible.

Forcing myself to go on a hike in the middle of a really bad and long depression spell (cranky selfie in nature included 😆).

Nature’s presence can be as big as the Grand Canyon, or as small as a dandelion seed. Either way, it is powerful and it is present.

My smiley boy, my lil crackheaded goober, my boy with amazing doggy social skills that’s starting to act like a cranky old man. My adventure buddy, my snuggle buddy, my little modeling pro, my service dog. My boy who came when I lost my canine soulmate Kylo, who always paid attention when I was crying and offered huge goofy smiles and made me laugh. You’ve challenged me, you’ve driven me insane, you’ve made me grow as a human and a dog owner. You’ve taught me that people *can* have more than one heart dog.

✨3 whole years with you.✨

🧡 Happy Snatch Day, buddy. 🧡
