A moment for Lauren 🌸

Getting ready at her parents’ home, surrounded by her things, her book, and her people.

I loved photographing all the little versions of her throughout the day: quiet in the morning, taking it all in during the ceremony, and completely losing it on the dance floor by the end of the night!

And the dress!!! The texture! The tiny leaves! Against that garden!!! I just loveeeeeee!

Twenty years in New York, I moved here on 6.6.6.
I walked past sides of beef to get to work in the meatpacking. I did some hair, I took some pictures, I caught a lot of waves and a lot of fish, I married the love of my life. I kept a Child, a dog named Chicken and a Cat named Cous Cous alive. I got my nose Broken in the Golden Gloves. I met a bunch of irreverent outcasts in the east village who are my best friends. We played handball in Tompkins and went to the East Village Baths after. We all met at cafe Orlin on Saturday nights. We spent all our money at American apparel. We hung out in bars too late and smoked too many cigarettes even though I’ve never had a legal drink in New York. The power went out and I moved to bushwick. I’ve lived here longer than I’ve ever lived anywhere but I’ve never felt like a New Yorker but This is my home.

I’m always overjoyed to spend another springtime in New York with you. Im so happy we got to spend our anniversary under the cherry blossoms while I annoyed the shit out of you trying to get the perfect selfie. I love our life @tiffanipatchett and I love you. Happy anniversary.
