✨ Some books are beautiful, and then there are books that look like they were plucked straight out of the stars. 🌌📖 The Constellation of Forgotten Things by Tiffany Chu is an absolute dream to look at! The details, the aesthetic, the whole celestial feel? I’m genuinely swooning. 😭✨ And knowing that these stories explore love, grief, memory, and the kind of devotion that transcends even death makes this one feel all the more magical. A grief memoir told through fairy tales, with queer and straight love, celestial beings, impossible distances, and broken hearts still finding hope? Please tell me how I’m supposed to read this without getting emotionally attached to every single story. 🥹💫 This sounds like the kind of book you read slowly, savoring every beautiful sentence and letting the words settle somewhere deep in your heart. The combination of lyrical storytelling, mythic beauty, and bittersweet romance already has me intrigued! 💭 do you prefer fairy tales with happy endings, or the kind that leave you emotionally devastated but somehow grateful you read them? #TheConstellationOfForgottenThings #TiffanyChu #Bookstagram #FantasyBooks #BooksWithBeautifulCovers 🔑 The Constellation of Forgotten Things, Tiffany Chu, grief memoir, fairy tale retellings, lyrical fantasy, celestial fantasy, queer love stories, emotional reads, beautiful books, fantasy book recommendations, books about love and loss

❓Have you read any short story collections this year?⁣ ⁣ I do love short stories for when I’m short on time or as a palette cleanser! Also just to break up the long 500 page books too. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you again @mtmctours for the tour invite and to @tiffanychu__ for sending copies of this book - both the standard paperback we got earlier and this absolutely gorgeous hardback! ⁣ ⁣ This is an incredibly moving collection of short stories between two people who were lucky enough to meet but ultimately whose time together was cut short. Their personal story is just heartbreaking to be honest, and I hope that putting together this collection of stories has brought author Tiffany Chu some solace and peace. ⁣ ⁣ The writing is lyrical and beautiful - it gives me Starless Sea vibes. The short stories are all kinda connected - set in the same overall fantasy world, and I did notice a couple call outs to previous stories I think! I had to sit for a bit after reading A Song of Rain. Remember and Memory and Shadow were two other stories that really stuck with me. There might not be HEA endings but the impact, the poignant way so many of these short stories end, will stick with you after you finish reading. ⁣ ⁣ This campaign is still accepting Late Pledges on Kickstarter! If you have the chance to grab the kickstarter edition, definitely grab it! It is a stunningly beautiful hardback with foil ALLLL over the hardcase. There are beautiful color end pages, artwork inside, and screenshots of their funny DMs together.

One of two interiors I had the pleasure to illustrate last year for Tiffany and Renley Chu’s anthology The Constellation of Forgotten Things, available now on Kickstarter. Its stories are full of beauty, love, and longing, and the book itself is gorgeous, with the works of @a.c.sanders @ladyeruart and @duckhymn ! ❄️❄️❄️ #bookillustration #winterart #bookishart

Q. Do you read short stories and have any recs for me? The Constellation of Forgotten Things is an anthology of interconnected short stories. I received the ARC of this book earlier this year, but like all my plans, reading it got delayed. This book made me feel too many things at once. Most of the stories are bittersweet, yet hopeful. We get a glimpse into the fantasy world and the writing process through Tiffany’s notes. I knew Renley was no more while going into this book, but reading about his stories and thoughts made this book even more special. Each story is lyrical and easy to picture in your head. If you ask me to pick one, I wouldn’t be able to do so. Every time I read a new story, it got better than the previous one. It’s sad that this is a collection of short stories. I would love to read them as novels because I never wanted them to end. This book gave me The Everlasting vibes and also carried a bit of whimsy and magic like the lantern festival in Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao. If you like those books, you might like this one. P.S. One of the major themes in the book was fear of letting go contrasted against moving on. I have played around with this theme in my edits through light and dark. #theconstellationofforgottenthings #newbookalert #bookreviewsofinstagram #bookedits Synopsis of The Constellation of Forgotten Things by Tiffany Chu and Renley Nicolas Chu Quoted from Beneath the Hawthorn Tree Quote from Trails of Broken Dreams Quoted from A Song of Rain Quoted from Remember Quoted from Unraveled Strings Book is coming out next week!
