This was May/June/July, which I’m finally getting around to reflecting on. I’ve been so stupidly busy of late; and when I say “stupidly busy” I do mean that it’s because of my prevailing inability to sit still that I let myself take on more than I can chew (stuuuupiddd). At present I’m juggling 5 different projects - 2 remounts and 3 new works; putting on 2 shows in Gold Coast and Byron Bay; teaching; and finishing off my masters degree all while fulfilling my carer role for Mum (she’s doing great btw). But one thing I promised myself when I leapt into freelancing and moved back to Australia, was that I would make time to be with the people I love and live life fully - including implementing two day weekends for the first time in 20 years. So when I say “stupidly busy” I also mean busy being my very particular brand of stupid - and stupidly happy - with my family and friends. I’m coming up for 4 years living here and I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying it. The tri-town life betwixt Gold Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay affords me the best of a few worlds, and I have the most magnificent nature right in my backyard. @kliwonthedog and I sometimes miss some of the Euro perks but hot dog, life is very relaxed and sweet here in the clean air and sub-tropical climes. It’s good for the soul - as evidenced by the smile on my face in this album, except for the last photo. That’s a face I pull a lot in the studio when I’m horrified by the poor quality of my output/at bureaucratic process/at Queensland drivers like srsly what do they teach you in driving school/at the dating apps/at the state of the world etc. - you know, like ACTUAL stupid. Alas, back to the soul - how lucky I am that for every heartache or pang of sadness or despair, I have such a loving network. My little 4 yr old niece and 8 month old nephew to remind me of what really matters most, friends who are like family, family who are like friends, my darling dog, a career combining the things I love - dance, art and music, nature, and an abundance of love. Love, love, love. And time, time with it all. 🤍
