I have so much content in my phone that never normally sees the light of day but I’ve been challenged to start posting more frequently .

Back in September I had the pleasure of attending the Black Women Rising Welcome Back Party after their summer break.

@blackwomenrisinguk supports black and brown women who have had a cancer diagnosis.

A wonderful time was had at @soulmamalondon in Islington for a lunch with talks from the Vibes Master IYKYK, founder @leanneperoofficial and ambassador @claudinereid1 and an amazing performance from

Great catching up with so many other members.

When @samogun and I started @thepeoplescornerr , the heart behind it was always to foster genuine human connection amongst us all. Our life experiences connect us more than we realise, and we wanted to create a safe space to show this.

By virtue of God's grace we came across a special person, @tilzn9 . And I thank God that this space was able to provide her with this experience.

Just a month ago, Tilly was given the heartbreaking news that her cancer had progressed to stage four.

Most days are incredibly difficult. She’s constantly battling extreme pain and there are moments where even getting out of bed feels impossible.

Through it all, Arsenal has continued to give her something to hold onto. Watching her club win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final has brought her hope during one of the most challenging periods of her life.

Love is more than a feeling—it is a force that shapes perspective, connection, and growth. It exists in quiet moments and loud declarations, in presence and absence, in both giving and receiving. True love is not defined by perfection, but by consistency, patience, and understanding. It is choosing someone, or something, again and again, even when it is not easy.

At its core, love reflects authenticity. It reveals who we are when we are open, vulnerable, and unguarded. It teaches lessons—sometimes gentle, sometimes difficult—but always meaningful. Love can inspire courage, push boundaries, and bring clarity to what truly matters. It is both grounding and elevating at the same time.

Facts about love show it is deeply tied to human connection and emotional well-being. It can strengthen resilience, improve mental health, and create a sense of belonging. Love is not limited to romance; it exists in friendships, family bonds, passions, and self-respect. Self-love, especially, is the foundation that allows all other forms to grow in a healthy and balanced way.

In every form, love is transformative. It evolves, adapts, and endures. It is not something to chase endlessly, but something to recognize, nurture, and protect when it is real and true.

Today is Triple Negative Breast Cancer Day 🤎

Triple Negative Breast Cancer, often called TNBC, is a type of breast cancer that does not have oestrogen, progesterone or HER2 receptors. This means some of the most common targeted treatments do not work for it, which can make it more aggressive and harder to treat. 🤎

TNBC disproportionately affects Black women, and we see the impact of that in our own community. It is treatable, and many women respond well to chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and, increasingly, newer treatments such as immunotherapy. However, it can be more likely to return, which is why better research, better treatment options and better support are so urgently needed. 🤎

✨ Today we stand in hope.
✨ Hope for earlier diagnosis.
✨ Hope for more effective and less toxic treatments.
✨ Hope for equitable access to care.
✨ Hope for a future where outcomes are no longer determined by race.

We are so grateful to the three incredible women pictured here, who recently shared their stories as part of our video storytelling series. But have also taken part in many of our focus groups with external partners around TNBC 🙏🏾 Your honesty, courage and generosity in speaking out helps raise awareness and brings strength to so many others to show there is life beyond TNBC 🤎

Meet Telesha 🧡

Telesha has faced multiple recurrences of triple negative breast cancer since your primary diagnosis in 2019, and now, with its 4th return, she continues to show us what self-awareness, advocation and determination look like in real time.

After being told her cancer was inoperable in Christmas’s Eve 2025, Telesha refused to accept that her story ended there. She asked questions. She pushed for answers. She sought new opinions she has now been given a life line in the form of a clinical trial.

Her journey reminds us that:

✨It’s important to know your normal 
✨You are allowed to challenge your health care professionals  .
✨Hope can live alongside fear.

We are so proud to stand beside you Telesha🤗

BLACK WOMEN RISING - AMBASSADORS GRADUATION BREAKFAST - 10 July 2025

In 2019, I walked into the Black Women Rising space in Peckham Levels, where I finally met my now wonderful friend, @leanneperoofficial.

I immediately felt an exhalation of everything I had experienced in my then 2x cancer journey until that point.

An invitation to arrive as 'myself'.

Since then, I have spoken publicly more times than I can count, read my own poem aloud to a theatre of people, been involved in numerous projects, published my story in a number of outlets and been on the telly!

Aside from that, I've found a community and a sisterhood that truly understand and accept me, something I'd never had as a Black/Mixed-Race woman with cancer. I have friends i never knew I'd love so much, and family who loves me back...
...and not a single unwashed leg in sight. IYKYK.

✨ Pause, Reset, Renew ✨

It’s been a whole week since the Black Women Rising Pause, Reset, Renew event, and what a beautiful day it was. A day dedicated to joy, movement, and much-needed time out for the incredible women in our community. From uplifting workshops to moments of stillness, the energy was powerful and deeply nourishing.

I love being around my sisters. There’s no space where I feel more myself with no judgement than with these amazing women.

A massive thank you to everyone who made the day so special. And a personal shoutout and THANK YOU to the incredible @michelle_tsiak for so generously giving her time, talent, and heart.

Michelle, your energy lit up the room. Thank you for showing up for us with such grace and warmth, you truly helped make the day unforgettable 💛

What a special morning spent with the the incredible Black Women Rising UK team ! Today I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Ambassador Gradution breakfast held at the beautiful Estee Lauder London HQ !

I have been honoured to serve as an Ambassador and the event was in celebration and recognition of the advocacy we ambassadors have done on behalf of the charity. It was such a beautiful moment to be awarded gold medals alongside these amazing women ❤️

We heard from Charlotte Crowl project lead and founder Leanne Pero on the impact the charity has made which is incredible providing a safe space and sisterhood to those with a cancer diagnosis.

I'm honoured to stand alongside these incredible women who raise their voice and give so generously to support others ❤️
