🦋ITS FOR ALL OF YOU🦋

Nothing has proven more true to our realIty for farming than the willingness, want and heart of our communities.

We do not own this land. Gary and Sue invite us in trust. We sustain this work through collaboration and communication with an amazing family of people.

The crew at Natural Farm Stand is our family. @maeve.ku and @goldengillsmushrooms and @tinytempestfarm and @3brothersfarm and Ene and Chris and Bill and Chris and the list continues of how we work together. Ginger, who bought us our first gladiolus bulbs, and she always gets first harvest 🌺

Everyday is hard and every day ends in appreciation of the community of local agriculture. Every CSA member is part of this family. Every person who accepts our extravagantly delayed phone calls, texts, hugs, is part of this family. Every person who deserves local grown food is part of this family. Every living creature in our ecosystem deserves a bountiful and healthy chance on this earth.

That means ITS ALL OF YOU ⚡️💖💛 here we go august, the roller coaster of love.

I had a policy professor in school who used to say “All politics are local.” It was something I’d never considered at the time, but the older I get the more I agree.

Yes, I’d love to see change at a federal level when thinking about corn subsidies - but if I can live in a community that supports enough local farmers to have resilient local access to real food...well, that’s pretty good for me.

But let’s be honest:

Paying the true cost of food - without subsidies - is expensive!

The best way to support my local farmers is to buy in bulk - it costs less for me and is more stable for them.

And, to buy the least desirable cuts. These cuts are often extremely nutrient-dense and I can assure you that in some parts of the country they are still being discarded!

If you can get creative and learn how to use all the cuts - you’ll add diversity, nutrient-density and some adventure to your life!

What one small action can you take today to support your local farmers?

To learn how to cook all the odd bits, come to my masterclass on Wednesday - link in bio. See you there!

National CSA Week?! Whatever do you mean??

CSA stands for 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

CSA’s are designed to benefit the farmer 𝐚𝐧𝐝 the consumer by leaving out the middle-person (big-box markets).

CSAs directly provide buyers with farm fresh, seasonal produce. You are participating in making your local food system and local community stronger when you purchase your CSA.

Each member will receive a snapshot of the vegetables we have growing at that time.

Your weekly delivery is called a 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 because of yours and our mutual investment in the land and the food we are growing upon it. You put your trust in us and the Earth to provide you with nutrient dense food when it is naturally at its peak flavor.

Reserve your 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 in local food and a local food economy by heading to our website - link 🔝

Eating the whole animal is the best way I know to support our regenerative farmers.

These farmers are
👉 increasing topsoil
👉 sequestering carbon
👉 improving the soil biome
👉 increasing nutrients in the soil.

They are the *true environmentalists* of our era.

Comment below if you’d like my Getting Started Guide with tips and resources for sourcing directly from farmers.
