What a weekend on the mats for Scheer’s Martial Arts.🔥🔥🔥

Saturday, Scheer’s Carlson Gracie Team members stepped up and leveled up, challenging themselves as they continue their personal journeys in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Congratulations to all of you. The skill, the focus, the composure… it was on full display. Well done. On to the next chapter. 🙏🏼⚔️🥋🤙🏼

Day 2 of this double-header weekend brought the Youth In-House Xtreme Grappling Tournament. A full house. 100 competitors. One mat space filled with grit, heart, and growth.

Every match was a test of spirit. Win or lose, you carried yourselves with class and true sportsmanship. That’s what this is about. We’re proud of every one of you.

To our volunteers, thank you. These events do not happen without you.

To our officials, coaches, and pit crew — timekeepers and scorekeepers — you kept things running strong all day. You all rock.

And to the backbone behind the scenes, the Saskatoon Martial Arts Association, thank you for continuing to support and drive these events forward for our athletes and families.

Huge team effort all around. We appreciate every one of you.

See you on the mats. 🙏🏼⚔️🥋🤙🏼

Received my brown belt yesterday. I dont think about belts much, however I'm excited to finally be able to heel hook in the IBJJF 😂. Huge thank you to coach @ringshark4life for all his guidance, and thank you to all my training partners and friends who put up with my shit. Exited to chase greater things and get to higher levels!

Scheer’s Carlson Gracie Team — AVA Submission Grappling Championships Results 🔥🔥🔥

This past weekend our team stepped up and delivered.

Huge congratulations to every athlete who hit the mats and represented — the performances were outstanding across the board.

🔥 1st Place Best Adult Team
🔥 1st Place Best Overall Team

That’s how you represent.

From start to finish, what stood out wasn’t just the results, it was the composure, grit, and high-level sportsmanship. Win or lose, every athlete carried themselves with class and represented both the team and themselves with honor.

Big respect to our coaches, senior students, and support crew who continue to push the standard and drive everyone to improve every time they step on the mat. That’s what builds champions.

A big thank you as well to our team members who put in the work behind the scenes — working the event all day and pitching in to help make it a success. That doesn’t go unnoticed.

Shoutout to the AVA crew for running a top-notch event — well organized, professional, and taking great care of the officials, staff, and our students who contributed throughout the day.

Special shoutout to Coach Jason Betke for holding the fort down through a big stretch of the afternoon with the senior crew… you rock!!

And a big nod to Coach Jesse Stewart stepping in as one of the center refs — a role that gets all the praise but also all the heat when calls don’t go your way. Not an easy job, and often a thankless one. You handled yourself with class, stayed consistent, and called it straight from start to finish. Respect. The entire officiating crew did an outstanding job all day.

Proud of the entire squad. Keep raising the bar.

See you on the mats.
🙏🏼⚔️🥋🤙🏼

Great to have Chris @ringwormrick back in the mix, always awesome hearing about his travels, and adventures 🙌🌍

Keep showing up. Keep growing. Keep pushing each other.
It takes a tribe…rise together!! See you on the mats. 🥋⚔️🤙🏼

Our “soft launch” on Thursday was incredible!

It was scary at first, and we were all a little nervous, but it went really well, and everyone had so much fun!

We are seriously so excited to open our doors. It felt like a real comedy club in there; the comedians crushed, the energy was magic, and the audience was perfect.

We’ve got more finishing touches to add, so be sure to come to the next soft launch show to peep the changes!

Saturday, September 21st at 7PM, Part One of the Comedy Festival Submission Shows begins! Tickets can be purchased on our website, link in bio!

In addition, we’re excited to have a 9Mile offsale! After you take in a show, you’re able to buy some home brews!

Some vague update pics! 📸

Art Bar is coming along nicely; we’re hoping to have everything set up, with all the nitty gritty details figured out in the next week. A big THANK YOU to Dusty and Bzowy of @timbertechsaskatoon! They do incredible work; you should hire them! 🔨

Be sure to stay tuned for a show announcement, soft launch dates, as well as details for The Grand Opening Party! 🍾

In the meantime, Art Bar is seeking out performing artists (comedy, music, drag, poetry, burlesque, dance, author readings, whatever can be performed live!) and visual artists local to Saskatchewan who are interested in producing/showcasing at Art Bar. We’d love to give you a tour of the space, as well as the opportunity to lay claim on a regular time slot. 🗓️

Please drop us a line via our website!
