USA Epiphone Casino in stunning “Royal Tan” for @time_barnett of @johnstonsonsss and @declinermusic!

This one came in for a cleaning and setup. In addition to the normal work I installed a pair of dogear P90 shims to get the pickup heights correct. It’s playing and sounding great!

• Some words from jacob park, texture founder/creative director:

“I guess we’re all kinda held together with tape in one way or another…and still sexy.

February 18th, 2025, dead of winter in Detroit. i glanced out the window while driving and immediately slammed on the brakes. I was stopped dead in my tracks.

This thing looked absolutely incredible; the way the two tone paint matched the icy, muted detroit backdrop, and the way duct tape drew me in.

The image stuck with me.

It’s an understatement to say the wheels nearly fell off more than once trying to get this record out. But getting to be apart of this thing has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my last ten years as an organizer. Thank you steve, rob, and tim for putting your trust in me to help make this happen and to see this thing through.

Cut Rate is out Friday.
We’re celebrating Saturday in Detroit.

Decliner forever.”

PREMIER: Decliner - Slipped Gear [Texture Records]

Digital Release Date: September 18
Vinyl Shipping Mid October
EU distribution: @waswordandsound

Cut Rate is the debut LP from Detroit-based techno punk band Decliner. Written and recorded over the span of several years, the music reveals a sludgier, darker, and more industrial sound, representing a marked departure from their raw and thrashy roots.

An album that lives at the edge of potential… a fever-dream where danger, uncertainty, and reckless hope collide. With dark humor, underdog grit, and flashes of raw beauty, it moves like someone risking everything — bravely, boldly, sometimes foolishly.
