A perfect day to be wine tasting. Well any day is a good day to be wine tasting to be fair. But did you know Central Texas is the second largest wine region in the USA behind Napa/Sonoma? It’s true. For those not familiar, Texas weather and terrain has a lot of similarities to Tuscany so Italian varietals grow quite well here.

Today we were at @upliftvineyard and they gave us an amazing experience. From barrel tastings, drive around out by the vines, your own hot rock to cook some wagyu beef on, and of course some really nice wines, they made it a fantastic experience. We will be back!

And for the excursion the classic Speedmaster Moonwatch Sapphire Sandwich performed admirably. As I say often, it’s a classic for a reason.

What takes a Speedmaster to the next level? Diamonds. Lots of diamonds!

But dare I say that Omega has found a way to make a fairly subtle gem set timepiece? Hear me out…

First let’s start with the brushed rosegold. The brushing gives it a much less #inyourface feel than a polished rosegold would imo.

And then with the gem set. Sure it’s a bezel full of diamonds and in the general scheme of things, this would never be considered subtle. But they stop at the bezel. They don’t go farther with indices and lugs getting crusted. So does that make this a more wearable piece?

Oh and the chocolate dial is pure perfection with the rosegold imo!

Cause who doesn’t need to know what time it is in Moscow when 600 meters underwater in the Blue Hole?

The Planet Ocean World Timer. Is this complication because it is needed as a tool? Nope it’s just freakin cool.

The color way is pretty fun as well with the all black with turquoise accents. Omega has done a very different approach to turquoise this last year, unlike many other brands that are chasing the Tiffany Blue.

Not a piece that works for me but cool to see for sure and for bigger men, makes more sense.
