POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Virginia Beach to watch the Super Girl Surf Contest. But I missed all the surfing. I also go a chance to see @atlanticparksurf the only public surf lagoon with Wavegarden Technology. But to my infinite disappointment, I didn’t get to surf even though it’s been top of my bucket list for half of forever. Honestly, I’m still not sure what drew me to @visitvabeach but I wanted to see it.
I joined a group of other Americans, folks from the UK and Ireland and few Canadians. We bonded over what they all thought was the true ‘Merica. I kept saying that, this isn’t my America but that’s beside the point. We laughed. We shared stories of love and heartbreak. Of our professional and personal accomplishments. We made fun of my broken beloved country. We spent far too long laughing in Sunsations- the cheesiest of seaside t-shirt shops. And the best of all, I took my new friends in their first ever trip to Trader Joe’s. Where the $5 canvas bag can be sold on eBay in London for ten times that amount.
Sometimes travel is all about the destination. Sometimes it’s about the things you do there. But this trip was all about the wonderful people I met who deepened the experience and helped me see my ‘Merica in a new light.

My besties. 🤍

I have always been fortunate to have a rich and wonderfully full life… filled with amazing people I’ve been lucky enough to walk through my adventures with.

The friends in these photos have celebrated with me, laughed with me, travelled with me, supported me, challenged me, and loved me through all the versions of myself that came before this one.

They were there long before the wedding day, and having them there to celebrate with us made the day that much more special.

I never needed someone to complete my life. I was already incredibly lucky.

This is the life I brought to the marriage, and I’m so grateful for every one of you who helped build it. Here’s to all the chapters still to come. 🤍

We spending nuff time outside in Tobago and in nature, my happy place!

Peeped a lookout over English Man’s Bay, one of Tobago’s most beautiful beaches. Framed by rainforest-covered hills and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, the sweeping view has become one of the island’s most photographed landscapes.

I was most excited to explore Main Ridge Forest Reserve
Tobago, which celebrates its 250th anniversary this year. It’s the oldest legally protected forest reserve in the Western Hemisphere.

We ended our lovely day actually at English Man’s Bay, where we had the beach to ourselves like many beaches in Tobago.

How’s the island looking to y’all?!

Spent a fun morning at Shurland Nature Park, a hidden hummingbird sanctuary in Tobago. I got to hand-feed rare hummingbirds, take in lush scenery and eat Aunty Shurland’s savoury homemade lunch while hanging with hummingbirds!

Shurland’s been working on this property for 20 years because, as she told me, she just loves nature. Me too Shur so I was delighted to spend the day here!

Tobago is a premier birdwatching destination and I was happy to have caught sight of many! Yo girl might be becoming a birder and I ain’t mad about it. 🦅🦜🕊️🦅🦉

Has a hummingbird ever eaten out of the palm of your hand?! 🥰💕😍
