POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It's so crazy knowing my debut single is out there in the world now! How bizarre to think almost anyone could listen to this track that me and @timjkey made and recorded in my lounge.

It has been such a rollercoaster this release journey. There have been some really hard bits and some very cool bits. I am still processing everything, and I learnt SO much.

So far people are telling me the track is slinky, seductive, yearning. Which is super cool feedback to hear! I'd love for you to have a listen - is it what you expected from me? Or is it a bit different? Link in is my bio for you to listen.

Today I want to introduce you to one of the gentlest and loveliest people I know. Tim Key has been a dear friend for years, and we started making music together this year. The very first single I'm releasing next week is a collaboration with this kindest of men. It features @timjkey on guitar with a beautiful yearning melody, which inspired the name of the track and the EP.

Best known as guitarist and backing vocalist for two of the capital’s grooviest dance bands, Newtown Rocksteady and Sam Manzanza’s Afrobeat Band, Tim also plays solo as Merlin Webster, with his blues-rock trio, The Merlin Webster Experience, and has released a soul/dub/blues album under the name Owlet Nightjar.

His sounds and styles span genres and generations, from folk, rock, and blues to reggae, afrobeat and mo-town, all suffused with the psychedelic soul of the sixties.

Most importantly, I feel lucky to count this human as a wonderful friend and talented musical collaborator. Thanks so much for coming on this release journey with me, and for your eternal patience with me. Love you ❤️
