Med School Update

I have been very busy with school recently which is why I have basically been AWOL on social media. Here are a few things that are happening:

1) NEURO IS HARD

This neuro block has been a lot compared to previous blocks. It is very detailed which makes learning things very granular

2) STEP prep has started

Another challenge has been balancing school while preparing for STEP. My test is in December so I am slowly ramping up reviewing previous units and doing practice exams

3) Ran a half marathon

A month ago I ran a half which was awesome. Getting back into running has been a frustrating yet rewarding experience. Excited to keep this habit going and see where it goes

4) Research is cool

My research project this summer led to some really interesting insights on the molecular biology behind stress and mindfulness. Stay tuned for more 👀

5) Time with friends and fam

As always, you gotta spend times with the peeps you care about!

Do you want to know more about the gala before you buy?

We got it! This year’s event will be at Discovery World, a beautiful venue featuring a gorgeous ballroom and outdoor space. We heard you and we added more bartenders, ditched the sat dinner, and are here to facilitate a night where you can interact and have fun with your classmates. Bar and spaces to mingle both inside and outside*. There will be opportunities to entertain yourself throughout the night and seated tables and cocktail tables for you to move between to chat!

Catering is Bartolotta Catering. That’s right, the amazing Bartolotta of Harbor House, Ristorante Bartolotta Dal 1993, Mr. B’s Steakhouse, Bacchus, & the other best Restaurants around Milwaukee area! Hor d’ourves, including chicken satay (GF), crispy fried cauliflower (VG, GF), bourbon-braised pork belly (GF), and smoked mozzarella arancini (V), will be passed from ~6-8 PM along with a grazing table filled with cheeses, meats, dips, & more! Dessert to be served after followed by a late night bite!

Break out your old prom dress, sorority formal dress, last year’s suit, or dazzle in something new to connect with classmates and dance the night away! Or, browse the items available for auction with your complimentary raffle tickets on arrival! Later in the night, we’ll have a performance by Sweet Nothings, a band with none other than two of your amazing classmates, Parker and Shrey, followed by DJ Gemini Gilly!

When the event is done, you don’t have to be! Discovery World is an 8 minute drive to Water St and Brady St or a 15 minute drive home to your cozy bed!

M1s- come make friends and meet more people in your class. It may be your one chance to experience the gala as it is not guaranteed next year!

M2s- this is your one last outing before Step and one last time to see all your classmates together! Finish out Phase 1 with a bang!
