Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share that my film “Tod meiner Jugend (Death of My Youth)” is getting some attention at Cannes this year. Big thanks to German Films for the announcement in the Cannes Market Magazine - really appreciate the support. Also, a huge shoutout to Thore Vollert and Look at that! for taking the film on for distribution. It means a lot to have such great people behind the project.
This film is very personal to me. It’s about Kai Peter’s story - his tough childhood, the trauma, the loss, and how he finds a way through it all. It’s raw and honest, and I hope it connects with people who’ve been through hard times or just want to understand that journey better.
I’m also pretty stoked about the new category at Cannes this year and seeing Laurie Anderson there - she’s incredible. Fingers crossed I get tickets for “Alpha” ( by Julia Ducournau ) in competition. Hope to see some of you there!
Thanks for all the support so far. Now, time to practice my “I’m just here for the films” face for Cannes! #marchedufilm

Last week we started shooting our new Feature:

„Tod Meiner Jugend“ („Death of My Youth“) is based on the true story of Kai Peter, who experienced sexualized violence repeatedly during his childhood and youth. Now living in Alstätte, Peter has chosen to bring his story to the public to raise awareness about such issues and advocate for changes, such as the removal of statutes of limitations for these crimes. The film aims to encourage other victims to speak out and overcome their shame.

The Film is based on the upcoming book and biography.
The script has been written by Daniel Jaro, Sophie Reyer and Timo Jacobs.

Dramaturgie assistance by Cynthia Buchheim, Daniel Sellier, Kenton Turk

The casting for the film is being handled by @nataschazimmermann_casting in cooperation with Timo Jacobs, who is also directing the film. The project is categorized as a 2024 film, indicating its expected release timeline.

Okay, @timo.jacobs now nominated me in this Tabletop challenge. I have to dig deep to find anything close to a tabletop. Really wasn’t much of a tabletopper to be honest. I found this, which was shot during a New Zealand trip ages ago. It was also used as a poster for Dragonfly in @freedombmx_mag
