Two weeks ago today my life changed forever. I was living for Lust, Greed, and Comfort. I have always been “Religious” but was an uneducated follower of God. I was invited to Southside Baptist Church and didn’t think much of it, I thought it would be just another day attending church. Little did I know that day I would be educated on what it truly means to be a follower of God. I broke down emotionally inside during that service and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I did not know I was capable of what I would come to do in the next 2 weeks. By the grace of God I have stayed 100% clean and sober for the past 2 weeks which is something I cannot say I have done in the past 7+ years. In those two weeks I have read the Bible consistently and made leaps and bounds towards my long term goals in every facet of my life. Today I was Baptized and I feel like a New Man. I understand this cannot take back the disrespect I have had for myself and all the amazing gifts God has blessed me with over the years, but it is a step in the right direction. 3 weeks ago I did not feel worthy of all the blessings in my life, and I most likely never will. All I know is that God has blessed me with an opportunity to make this world a better place and I wake up everyday now with the determination to do so. I am not one to talk about things like this online but I feel a need to do so to show that if anyone is going through something in there life that they feel is holding them back even if that may be your own self limiting beliefs you can over come any obstacle no matter how big or small by pouring your heart into our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your human nature will be to brush off the message but I encourage you to look into your heart and ask yourself am I living for myself or am I living for God. Thank you to everyone who has given me the support and positive reinforcement to change my life for the better. Sobriety is not the end goal for me, but at the moment that is what is needed to clear my path toward salvation. God Bless Everyone.
