CHAPTER 26 💋

PR & COMMUNICATIONS // On Saturday June 8th, over 1000 esteemed guests enjoyed a spectacular night at ‘Het Amsterdam Diner’. Among them were attendees from both the Netherlands and abroad, including well-known figures from the worlds of art, fashion and media, prominent politicians, HIV scientists, members of the Royal Family, and top executives from the Dutch business community.

In line with the forward-looking theme ‘Face the Future,’ new collaborations were announced this year with @linda , @linda_meiden , @annanooshin , and @medialane. These partnerships brought a refreshing energy to the Amsterdam Dinner, which has been renowned for 33 years as the largest and most prestigious charity gala in the Netherlands generating awareness and raising money for HIV and aids.

The 30th edition of @amsterdamdinnerfoundation raised an impressive €1,200,000. This year’s proceeds will go towards combating HIV stigma among young people - the voices of the future. It is with immense pride that RB | PR stands as HAD’s PR partner for the fifth consecutive year, marking our shared commitment to tolerance and openness.

Indebted to @roel_veltmeijer for inviting me to last night’s @amsterdamdinnerfoundation gala, which raises money and shines a spotlight on HIV/AIDS research and education with the hope of eradicating it once and for all. The night moved me to tears as it welcomed HIV+ women from around the world to share their stories, and in a major twist, ended with Eurovision winner @loreenofficial bringing the effing house down. An absolute sparkling evening made better by the company! ❤️ full recap tomorrow morning re the night and my mani disaster🥂 check out @amsterdamdinnerfoundation’s page for more information and how you can help from anywhere in the world!

Last weekend was great and I met so many sweethearts. Being there on the Canal Parade is one of my favorite days of the year, but in the meantime it makes me so sad that we still need special days for people to be who they want to be. Everyone should be able to shine each day ✨ #loveislove #canalparade #proudally 🫶🏼

Last night, over €1,000,000 was raised to help end the HIV/AIDS pandemic through the @amsterdamdinnerfoundation, an incredible organization chaired by my friend @roel_veltmeijer who generously invited me as his guest to their mind-blowing event last night. Gowns were donned, breast tape applied, hair bachelorette-contestanted and body bronzed. And guys I’m telling you, the Dutch people are proving to be nothing but kind, funny, generous, talented and, again, stunning.

I know we are dealing with heavy things on the daily but it was soul-cleansing to meet so many inspiring activists (and incredible table-mates) last night: @dinahderiquetbons, doing incredible work for the trans community; @akwasion, documentary filmmaker highlighting the many racial injustices here in the Netherlands; @annanooshin of ANNA: STATUS on Amazon Prime telling of her experiences as an Iranian-Dutch public figure; @burgemeesterfemkehalsema the MAYOR OF AMSTERDAM and “one of us” aka the most fun; and finally @roel_veltmeijer, whose dedication to the cause and moving speech last night reinvigorated my spirit after the gut-wrenching news out of America Friday. Plus, you guys, SO MANY EUROVISION WINNERS!!!!!!!!!!! 🚨 @johnarthurhill 😭

I’ve added a link in my bio to the @amsterdamdinnerfoundation donation page for those who have a little something to spare - click if you can. Then swipe to get a feeling for the positive spirits and intentions in the room last night, as well as seeing a few gratuitous pics of my gown which cost as much as a laptop bc my new thing is living beyond my means since what else is there? And yes, boob tape removal killed and my feet are an ungodly orange. Love you all… maybe not all but you get it.
