This petit salon in Timothy Corrigan’s Parisian pied-à-terre is a lesson in how to make a richly detailed room still feel warm and livable. The soft cream-and-gold foundation lets the antiques, art and touches of green and rose build slowly, so the room feels collected rather than decorated all at once! 🥂❤️✨

Design Tip: If you’re building a room over time, start with one consistent color story, then add antiques, art and textiles gradually. Repeating a few tones throughout different pieces is what makes a growing collection feel intentional.

This year’s @cashiersdesignershowhouse gave @torijohnstondesigns the opportunity to design the guest room of her dreams, teeming with fringes, tassels, and tactfully placed cords.

At the center of this botanical bedroom is a captivating bed canopy, embellished by the Bagatelle Tassel Fringe in Bloom by @timothycorrigan. The windowpane plaid headboard upholstery is given a tailored Astrid Cord edge in Antique Celadon. A lengthy lumbar pillow is punctuated at each end by the Bagatelle Blocked Marabout in Bloom, a geometric interpretation of the fabric’s greens, blues, and blushes. Throw pillows behind are framed by the Aurelia Brush Fringe in Loden, while reading scones above are circled by the Délicat Silk Moss Fringe in Basil.

The bedside tableskirt receives an Ashton Striped Border accent in Verdant Moor, building on the room’s interplay of linear and floral motifs.

Drapery coordinating with the bed canopy, held back by Bagatelle Single Tassel Tiebacks in Dewdrop to reveal cleverly concealed storage.

At the foot of the bed, a bench’s upholstery is traced by the Trianon Cord in Chiffon, a subtle note of blush, tangerine, and chartreuse.

This cord appears again on an armchar throw pillow, transitioning between its green fabric and contrasting ruffled edge. The seams of that generous armchair are elegantly traced by the Kensington Cordedge in Olive, incorporating a muted interpretaion of the greens found around the room.

Drawn to detail. The Bagatelle Gimp in Petal by @timothycorrigan traces each curve of this fanciful paneled lampshade, adding a touch of tonal definition to the silhouette while picking up the soft blush tones of the 101 Dalmatians-illustrated fabric.

Woodgraining on our minds today with a meeting to discuss a new woodgraining project this morning (crotch mahogany - oh yes!), and working on a handpainted floor this afternoon (grained ebony & oak). So of course, looking back on one of our favorite projects - transforming an original paneled room into a cozy woodgrained walnut library. Swipe to the last video to see the golden yellow base coat if you don’t believe it’s painted.
