Dear Track,

I still remember trying out in 7th grade after years of travel soccer, not knowing what this sport would become for me. Learning how to survive the pain of the 400, trust my team in the 4x400, and find strength in the 800… track has shaped me in ways I never expected.

It taught me discipline when I wanted to quit, mental toughness when the race got hard, and how progress isn’t always shown on a stopwatch. It gave me friendships that turned teammates into family, lessons that reached far beyond the track, and a stronger version of myself.

Losing regionals hurts. No point pretending it doesn’t. But one race doesn’t define the work, the growth, or the journey.

Every practice, every setback, every breakthrough, and all them mornings at Joe Brown & City Park track 😒😂, was building something bigger than this moment.

This isn’t the ending I pictured, but it’s the start of the next chapter. The lanes may change, but the lessons, memories, and mindset this sport gave me will carry me forward.

Thank you, track. For everything.
