Outdoor season recap: GOD IS STILL GOOD!!!

First foremost I want to thank my parents, my sister, my beautiful girlfriend @allie.wacaster her parents, her little sister, and my teammates.
⬆️Just a portion of the wonderful support system I have had this year in all.

Reflecting back on the beginning of the year, my one goal, was to throw. As a natural competitor I wanted to get better and compete but above all of that I just wanted to get back to what I loved to do. Last year javelin was taken from me in the blink of an eye. But through that tough time, I learned a value lesson of perseverance, and realization of where my hope and trust relies in: my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As I finished up my last meet for this season I can say that God has blessed me and allowed me to reach my one goal which was getting back to what I love to do, throwing and competing. And he allowed me to get a little better at it in the process😁.

Javelin:
Started the outdoor season with a 43 meter mark from an unattached meet last year. I stayed away from it all indoor season because I was afraid to get hurt again.
Ended the outdoor season at 56.92, a 7th place finish in the Big South Championships, and the 3rd all time mark in school history (the Winthrop post got it wrong😅).

Shot Put:
Started the year very focused on it in the fall because I was scared of jav and I didn’t wanna throw weight😅. A 13.05 meter mark from my first indoor meet last year.
I made a goal to throw consistent, rhythmic throws, and be able to make it back in the circle (and not scratch every throw).
Set a very high PR in indoor season that I struggled to reach in outdoor season.
Ended the outdoor season with a PR of 14.12, 8th all time mark in school history.

Through all the adversity the growth speaks for itself so I only leave you with a scripture from James 1:12:
“Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
